Listening to the email show this week and the Podcast Team's explanations of things that they like, prompted me to think what cool things do I use that others may like?

I will start by listing mine and hopefully others will follow suit; I love fishing and actually fish in some small tournament competitions. I absolutely love the new Abu Garcia Veritas Rod's. They are extremely lightweight, sensitive and are priced well for the quality you get. I realize many of you may not have fishing high on your priority list :) , but I have also discovered a really good Sunscreen product having spent many hours on the lake. It is the Banana Boat scalp and body spray sunscreen (SPF 45 I believe). It is not in an aerosol can, but in a pump sprayer. Great product, great protection from the sun, and I do not think it leaves the sticky residue on you that some of the aerosol spray sunscreen's do.

How about everyone else, what do you like?????

I decided today that the Podcast team are enablers. After listening to this week's show, I now must have the thing that cleans the floor and the antique book cover for my phone. And I want a MAC just so I can get the cool book looking cover for it. And now I'm adding that Banana Boat spray for my upcoming trip because my head always gets sunburned where I part my hair.
My new favorite things this summer are the Frogg Toggs Chilly pad and the O2Cool mini handheld fan and a San Diego Hat Company white with black and silver trim sunhat visor. I can't wait to wear it in WDW.

J Crew light cotton pants. Not sure what they call them but I went back to buy 3 more colors.

Also, driving moccasins (moccs).

:lmao: I have an iPhone 3GS and I'm bummed because they don't seem to have one of those book cover things for my style phone, just the 4G. They are really cool looking!

Now I must go google Frogg Toggs Chilly pads. Enablers! :rotfl:

I don't have an E-reader and probably never will. DH and I just love the feel and smell of a book too much to give up the "real" thing.

So, in order to read in dim light or when DH is sleeping, I have a Lightwedge. Rather than a clip light, it is a slim plexiglass "screen" that covers the entire page of your book and illuminates all of it. They make a hardback and a paperback size.

They also make other gadget accessories.

That's my Can't Do Without Gadget.

It doesnt have to be an "either / or" situation.

My Kindle lives in a nice leather cover and holds about 1500 books....and I can make the print bigger. A whole library can fit in the plam of your hand.

You should test drive one. I think you'll be surprised.

Without my Kindle (or my iPad), I wouldnt be able to read nearly as much as I do.

I'm currently enthralled in Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.

What I love about my Kindle is that it is light-weight enough to carry around everywhere I go. Being able to bring it with me allows me to read more often. Plus, Amazon offers so many great free books.

Have to agree with Kevin on this one. jpeka, never thought I would be able to do the transition either, but I have..part way. Kindle is awesome for travel. I always take books with me on vacation, but never know exctly what I will feel like reading so end up taking quite a few which takes up room and weighs down my luggage. With the kindle I can take limitless # of books with me. Also still buy regular paper books. Certain series I love and have in either paperback or hardcover I continue to buy that way so I have the entire collection in the same format.

Of course when Harry Potter gets released I will buy the entire thing again in eformat so I take those with me while i travel.

Just getting a kindle doesnt mean you need to abandon the traditional book.

I love my iPad; and we also bought an HDMI adapter so when we travel all we bring now is the iPad and we can generally plug it in to any Flat Screen tv in the hotel so the kids film library is right there. That saves us the hassle of toting around all of their DVDs, hooking up a laptop to the TV; praying the DVD isn't too scratched to play etc.

I also love having my library on it (though I can't wait for the Harry Potter books to be released and there are some Asperger's books that I wish were digital so I put in a request via Apple)

The other "New" stuff I like? I am going to sound like a Mac commercial, but I dig our AppleTv as well. I like the idea of simply beaming our movies across the room or from the iPad or iPhone to the television and not worrying with discs etc. We have a BlueRay, but I keep telling my DH that we need to simply cut out the middleman and buy what we can in Digital Format versus BlueRay because that is the next stage here.

Also, the Samsung SmartTV, holy cow you should watch any Pixar film on these things it's so crisp and clear it's a little unnerving.

Ok, tech love rant over.:goodvibes

For a long while, I didn't think I could possibly get a Kindle because it wouldn't be as enjoyable as reading a book. Now I find that I would rather read on my Kindle than from an actual book.

I never expected to be a convert, but I definitely am!

There's also just something so enjoyable about just clicking to buy a book and having it in your hands right away. Plus I love that you can download samples from Amazon and check out books before you commit to buy.

After listening to the email show I REALLY want to get one of the Twelve South BookBook case for my iPhone.

Good call on the Frog Toggs Chilly Pad! I forgot about those but my DD10 loves hers. She rarely makes it to the Soccer Field without her "cool towel" as she calls it.:thumbsup2

Stone cookie sheets. They really don't burn the first batch! Kinda heart them.

LLBean toiletries travel organizing thingies. I'm giving these for Christmas this year. :)

I found myself at Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday with my mom and happened to stumble upon the "Mint" John had just talked about and started explaining it to my mom. More and more often I find myself in stores saying "so on the podcast this week they talked about..." I even found myself in the Kureg isle looking at all the different K cups and I don't even drink coffee!

My new thing:

This summer at DLR I used Aveeno Positively Ageless sunblock (70) for the face. I put it on once under my make up in the morning and I never got the slightest bit sunburn all day long. And it didn't make me break out- it wasn't greasy. Loved it!

Thomas' Mini Pretzel Bagels.
:worship:

MMMMmmmmm......
And apparently they are great fuel for my runs.
Just had my best five miler yet!

Buying books is DH's weakness. I keep telling him about this amazing place called a library where he can get all of his books FOR FREE but he seems to not grasp the concept.

That being said, if he's spending $$ on a book, he wants an ACTUAL book. Which I guess I understand.....

But thanks, Kevin! :)

Ohh I like that. I think I'll ask for one for Christmas!

Well, I'm sitting here on my iPad, wearing my sanuk sandals and drinking a decaf coffee from mmy Keurig

My gadget of the moment is a "Yonanas" machine. It really works just like it does on the infomercial.

I can't wait for my banana and whatever fruit I have a taste for "ice cream" after dinner.

I'm also pretty sure that my next DIS enabled purchase will be a "twelve south" iPad book cover
