Back to school means it's time to repaint the house!! I'd like to start with a redo of the now boring beige bathroom. The majority of my house(halls and entry) are a sage/greyish color.

So what color is your powder room? I need some inspiration.

My powder room is a beautiful - if i do say so myself - burnt orange color. My whole house is done in earth tones of browns and greens. With a red kitchen! :goodvibes The powder room I did on a whim and it truly came out to be wonderful and is my favorite room right now. It's just that little surprise and pop of color. I have gotten many compliments on it.

The one downstairs is a bright yellow iwth black accents with some cute little bumblebees zipping around in it...on the towels, on the curtains, on the garbge cans.

The upstairs one is lilac with accents of deep purple and sage green. Floral curtains in a lilac/green.

OUr powder room is yellow. It's a Sherwin Williams color called Humble Gold.

I was leaning towards a burnt orange- which specific one did you use.
I just painted my dining room yellow- the benjamin moore pottery barn yellow they sell. I love that one. Keep the ideas coming.

I have Chamois-Shermin Williams. We have a Tuscan theme going... I AM IN LOVE with this color!!!!:thumbsup2

I'll trade you three very colorful bathrooms for your one boring beige bathroom.:rotfl:

The house we are renting in Arizona is a former model home, so the designers went all out on the interior. All of the bathroom walls are wallpapered with different designs. The wallpaper in one bathroom is brown with a darker brown leaf pattern. Not too bad. The master bathroom is papered in browns, reds, blues, and golds, all in a sort of swirly pattern. I get dizzy if I look at it too long. The third bathroom is papered in diamond shapes of green, purple, and gold. We've named it the "Mardi Gras" bathroom.

Now our house in Maine is more to my liking. I painted each bathroom with a theme in mind. The downstairs half-bath has a wallpaper border half-way up the wall. The wallpaper is decorated with beach scenes in shades of light blue, yellow and tan. I painted the wall above the strip a light blue and below the strip a light tan. It is my New England themed bathroom.:) The master bathroom is painted light green and the tiles around the shower and tub are shades of tan and brown. The third bathroom is painted dark blue with white trim. All of the bathrooms are peaceful and pleasant to spend time in.:) Unlike the bathrooms in this house, where it's get in and get out before the wallpaper drives you crazy.:scared1:

Mine is yellow, with a few birds, butterflies and ladybugs painted here and there. The people before us had an artist come in and do that room and we don't have the heart to cover it up.

Our main floor bathroom is tiled halfway up (dark beige tiles with little navy blue accent tiles). So I went nautical in wallpaper (navy and beige stripes), border (ships), and pictures (lighthouses) and used maroon curtains and shower curtain.

Upstairs was tiled in a mottled dark brown. I removed the blah wall paper and painted in sage green and sponged dark green ferns -- softened a little by sponging over the ferns in the lighter sage color. Used black wrought iron accents.

Mine is the exact color of sand. And I actually chose that color. It's a very grown up (aka boring) navy blue, sage and beige color scheme.

I'd like to change it to something fun, like Mickey, but I don't think my husband will go for that. It really doesn't "go with" the rest of the house. :rotfl:

Our master bath is also beige/off white but I didn't paint that. It's been that way since we moved in 9 years ago.

The accents are cranberry red and khaki.

I picked and painted the bottom floor powder room one day when the kids were off at school. When DH came home he walked in and said, "Do you realize it's the color of a pumpkin?" The room has no natural light so it's more brown than bright orange but yes, I have to agree with DH it is on the pumpkin side. I guess being in the room is a little like being in Cinderella's carriage to me, but I don't tell anyone that. The color is warm and inviting and hides my kids damage between washdowns:thumbsup2

We jokingly call the bathrooms "the library", so I thought...why not?

Our powder room has walls with a sponge treatment to look like dark beige leather...just like an old library chair. I added a border of books for extra design.

The mirror is not a 'traditional' bathroom mirror...I replaced it with a gold gilt-edge framed mirror that you'd usually see in a bedroom or hallway.

Found a great black steel trash can with claw feet. The room has a pedestal sink with no storage, so I found a CD holder wrapped in faux leather with a door that has 'books' on it which easily holds two extra TP rolls and an extra tissue box. Used pewter-black towel ring and switchplate covers. Black throw rug and black hand towels, and the tissue box is a fake stack of books. I even found a great wall magazine rack made out of pewter to hang on the wall across from the commode.

But the best part, the one that generates the most 'buzz' and has folks smiling...is the artwork we used. Much like in a traditional home library, my DH and I hung our framed college degrees in there along with the souvenir birth certificates for our kids. We each have a 'special paper' hanging in our 'library'.

I chose boring beige (Legend Tan) and it has a beach type theme going on in there. My powder room gets used a lot because it is the bathroom clients use. It is kept very simple and easy to clean!

We call our powder room the "Jimmy Hendrix ,Purple Haze experience." It is about the color of eggplant. My DSIS said we should put in an electric guitar and some fake pot since that is what we refer to it as.

It is really cool looking.

Is a powder room the same thing as a bathroom? Or is basically just a room with a sink and mirror?

My powder room is the color of pistachio ice cream to contrast with all white fixtures! It certainly wakes you up on a dark winter morning and looks fresh and clean. It was a rush choice made as we moved and I keep meaning to repaint in a less dramatic color. Perhaps a soft sage . . . People usually say they love it, or carefully compliment me on a "bold" choice. I have polite friends and family.

My upstairs bathroom is navy blue. Again, I need to repaint, so I will be watching this thread for inspiration!

Mine has yellow-ish cream tile on the bottom half with some black leaf shaped accents and is lavender on the top. I'm not crazy about it, but I don't hate it. The upstairs bathroom is peach tile with light blue paint. That I do hate. I'm anxious to hear suggestions.

a powder room has a sink and toilet. Usually downstairs (in a 2 story) so it can be used by guests visiting your home. In a one story, it is located convenient to the entryway or LR for the guests.

Powder room is probably a bit of an old-fashioned term. It is meant to refer to a small bathroom used by guests and it most definitely contains a toilet, not just a sink and vanity arrangement. I think the term comes from the euphemism of women asking to "powder their noses" rather than use the oh-so-terribly-vulgar terminology of asking to use the bathroom! I could be wrong though.
