what color for a manicure?

I never get manicures, or very rarely, and when I do I usually go for french. we have a party tonight and I am thinking about getting one today and am wondering what is the current look/trend in colors? the outfit I'm wearing tonight is black and white. (if it matters, I'm 42).

Oh heck, it is nearly spring! Go for it! I'm wearing "Not too Bora Boraing" from OPI.

Because french shows chipping so quickly, I most often get "Waltz" or "Marshmallow" by Essie. They look like the base of a french manicure but a little whiter and then the whiter tips of your natural nails make it look close to a french . Very pretty and natural looking and, because of the neutral color, the chipping is not noticeable and you can go longer between manicures.

If you're a little more daring, go for "Lincoln Park After Dark" by OPI. It's such a deep purple it looks almost black. Very attractive on short nails.

These are the three colors I wear most. DH loves LPAD.
