What color are school buses?

I say yellow.

This reminds me of an ongoing debate about american cheese. I say that stuff is orange. Sure looks more orange than yellow.

Yellow. When I was in elementary school, however, North Carolina school buses were orange. Virginia buses were yellow. My school had kids from both states, so we had two colors of buses.

Guess you're color blind then, they are YELLOW. :confused3

NHTSA's recommendation that school buses be painted yellow is found in Highway Safety Program Guideline 17, "Pupil Transportation Safety" (copy enclosed). Guideline 17 consists of recommendations for State pupil transportation safety programs.

I think everyone thinks of them as being yellow because traditionally they were called "yellow school buses" and they were painted yellow as opposed to the more higher visibility yellow-orange today. ;)

It's kind of like how blueberries are "blue". And white wine is "white".

The color was known, while I was growing up, as National School Bus Chrome.

It's more of a golden yellow, but still yellow nonetheless.

How does Orangish Yellow sound or Yellowish Orange :teeth:

Technically, yellowish-orange - but I call them yellow. DH grew up in the city where everyone calls school buses "the cheese". ;)

Orange-yellow. Basically yellow with an orange cast! How's that for non-commital? ;)
