What clothing to pack

I am going to WDW the last week of August through the first week of September. I hear it will be very hot and humid during this time. I am aware that there are often rain showers but figure it probably doesn't get very cold. I am planning on taking mostly shorts and tank tops and one pair of long pants and a light sweater. Will this be appropriate or will I need more warmer clothing. Any advice as to what to pack would be welcome.

I am going in July and I plan on taking shorts, tank tops and maybe a pair of capri's and maybe a couple of t-shirts.
But I think your ideas are good :)
Have a good trip! :)

I would skip the pants unless you plan on wearing them out to eat at night. Also bring some light weight cotton T shirts so you don't get too much sun-burn on your shoulders from the tank-tops all the time.

i would also throw in a light cotton cardigan sweater. Restaurants can get down right chilly with the air conditioning blowing. I bought this one from Land's End. It travels well and is thin. I have even washed it in the sink with woollite. I bought it in black.

I would also bring (or buy :bounce: ) a baseball cap to keep your face from frying in the sun all day - also good to cover head in case of rain & after rain ...

last time, when I wasn't wearing it, I just hooked it thru my fanny pack belt & 'wore it' on my waist. Never lost it on the rides that way. It was handy when standing in not so shady lines for all the rides.

pack a good sunscreen

We go every july, I pack shorts, and tank tops. I do bring a jean jacket, only because like the other poster said the restaurants are pretty cool with the a/c at night. I down own a sweater or else I'd bring that instead. I remember going to the HDDR & it was freezing (for me & my kids, my husband loves the cold) and we didn't have anything with us so we were alitle uncomfortable. After that, now every trip I bring a lightweight jacket for all of us.

Thank you for the advice. I hadn't even thought of the restaraunts being cold from the air conditioning. I will certainly pack a light sweater or cardigan for the evenings.

I am very aclimated to cold - I can stand in an iceskating rink with shotts and a t shirt - most people cannot - MY DW and DD needed a light sweater or windbreaker... the restaurants can be keptg quite chilly - I found myself going back to the locker to get them their sweaters on two occasions when we were dining

I concur with the sweater suggestion. I freeze in air conditioning. I have the same sweater referred to previously from Land's End. It's a great, lightweight sweater. I have it in white. I also pack a few casual sundresses. They are great for evenings in the park, i.e. watch Spectro, Illuminations, Fantasmic. Cool, casual and comfortable. Not real good for riding rides, but we go back to our room late afternoon, shower and change. I usually don a sundress then because we spend the evenings walking the Boardwalk or seeing the above mentioned shows. BTW: I keep my sweater with me all day, everyday. Also a rain poncho.
