I have never been to Orlando in October before, latest has been September, and I had planned on only packing shorts, vests and t shirts, NO long trousers or fleeces.
Will I be ok with this or do you suggest that I pack each person 1 warmer outfit. For travelling we will have a light cardigan or fleece and I'll wear 3/4's but the others are going in shorts.
TIA

I am taking something a little warmer. Even when it is sweltering outside, a long ride on a quiet, air conditioned bus can be a bit chilly, especially at night. I feel the cold though, but even my pure, Scottish blooded daughter uses her light cardi a few times.

I am not taking long trousers, all 3/4 length but I will be taking one sweatshirt and a fleece. Boys are taking a couple of pairs of trousers each but mostly shorts, and a couple of hoodies each. Packing light this time!!

See my kids and dh are still wearing shorts everyday up here and it is anything but warm :rotfl2:. This is the 1st week I have added a fleece to my vest and 3/4's outfit.

If they have a fleeece for the plane that should be sufficient and if they are cold, well I'll just have to go shopping :rolleyes1:rolleyes1.

2tiggies my kids also have the scottish blood and never seem to feel the cold.

It's generally still warm but can occasionally be a little 'fresh' later in the evening or early in the morning.

I went a few years back at the end of October and for a couple of days they had a bit of a cold snap, I wore my jeans in the evening (we always go back to the room late afternoon anyhow so changing wasn't a biggy) but the first day I was caught out because I didn't really believe that Florida cold was 'real' cold like home - I remember freezing my patooties off in shorts!

Never done October but been in December last 2 trips.

DH will be shorts and t shirts all the way with 1 hoody.

I'm taking linen trousers and 3/4 pants and t shirts and 1 hoody (don't do shorts!).

DD summer dresses, t shirts/3/4 pants, dress up clothes and 1 hoody.

We're going light this year - i'll wash every few days. Well DD lets the side down with her suitcase full of princess dresses.

Didn't even use a fleece or jeans in December - but we are northern and fairly hardy - DH got off the plane to snow in manchester one year in shorts and wasn't bothered.

If it was really cold I can always buy something on one of my many shopping trips i've got planned!

I am going in October/Nov too - so I am glad to see this thread.

Even more so as I just went to Tesco at lunch time and grabbed 2 x pairs of 3/4 linen shorts for £1 a pair!! Plus a couple of light weight cotton tops for £2 each!

Going to start my packing lists tonight with DD - we like to do them on the PC with colour coding and pictures - sad but fun!!

I've been Late September early October a few times and one thing I always pack is a pashmina. They fold up to next to nothing and are so handy for whipping out if I get cold due to air conditioned places or if the temp drops. :thumbsup2

I'm from the north but still a wimp! :rotfl:

ive never been to orlando before so i didnt know what to pack,

my husband was having a giggle when i started to pack the cases and he found jeans/trousers/hoody and long sleeved tops.

i did tell him we are going in october and then he showed me some info on the weather, i have now taken out most of the clothes and replaced with cotton tops and 3/4 trousers and 1 pair of jeans :yay:

I always travel in jeans and since I do feel the cold, it is never really warm here so always have a cardigan on anyway. Ditto for the trip home. I hate feeling cold and would much rather be too hot so I make sure I don't have to freeze at the airport while waiting for our flight.

We were there last October and it was extremely hot for most of the time but for a few days it was rather chilly for Florida - probably the temp would have been a heat wave here, just had to buy Disney hoodies for everyone :rotfl2:

See thats what am thinking, its about 15 C here today and the kids are all in shorts and t shirts so I'm reckoning that we should all be ok, we are all quite hardy :rotfl2:

... and I had my winter coat on and was telling DD off for not wearing her jacket. She always looks at me like I am nuts. On second thoughts, maybe I am not the best person to consult about appropriate clothing :rotfl:
