What CHaracter Meals have you enjoyed as ADULTS?

We have enjoyed all of the character meals that we have been to as adults... with one exception, that being Chef Mickeys.

Those that we have been to are: Chef Mickey's, Artist's Point (before it was disbanded), Hollywood and Vine (lunch), and Garden Grille (dinner).

DH wasn't too thrilled that I had booked character meals for he and I, but it was fun to see him smiling and playing around with the characters.

We liked

1.) Garden Grill (lunch) dessert to die for
2.) Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)
3.) Cinderella's Breakfast

These three were all preplated food but it was great and very filling

Buffet style we liked
1.) breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fare

We are thinking about trying Chef Mickey's this time around, but am not sure yet.

We went to Donald's Breakfastosaurus and did not like it at all, we were more or less ignored by the staff and the characters and would not go back.

We had a great time at dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. Goofy, Minnie and Chip & Dale made several trips to our table. We were as excited as a couple of 5 year olds.:p Also, the food was good. DH LOVES Stouffers Mac & Cheese and Goofy, so he was in heaven!

I always have my autograph book handy!

Solo: Cindy's, 1900 Park Faire, Cape May, Garden Grill Dinner, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine

With other 'adults': Cindy's, 1900 Park Faire, Villains, Breakfastasaurus, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Artist's Point, Garden Grill, Liberty Tree Dinner, Hollywood & Vine

They're all fun, and the charactors will treat you just like what you are - tall children!

Cape May Cafe is at the Beach Club - so you can walk in the back door (international gateway0 to Epcot. You can only get breakfast here - not lunch or dinner. Chief Mickeys has breakfast and dinner. the dinner at Cape may cafe is a seafood buffett but no characters.

I love Donald's Breakfastosaurus the best. The theming is a hoot, the characters interact with adults well and the "students" have always been very amusing each time I've gone.

There seem to be fewer young children than in any of the other character meals I've been to (I read this somewhere-- and the theory was that Donald doesn't appeal so much to little kids, so his meal doesn't attract them like say, the Crystal Palace does). I like kids and all, but sometimes a bit of a break is nice!

I would have to vote for the Liberty Tree Tavern for the best adult character meal experience. The food was really good for a character meal and the characters were really in a good mood the night I was there. Pluto professed his love for me by giving me lots of kisses and writing that he loved me on my menu. :o Chip and Dale were downright mean (in a good way) to my fiance. They kept stealing his fork and kept making "faces" at him. We had the perfect amount of character interaction. Enough but not too much to be annoying. Also we noticed several adult only tables and didn't feel out of place at all. I would highly recommend this dinner for adults.

We (32 and 29 yrs old) did 2 character breakfasts on our last trip. We did Cindy's with another couple who offered to share their ressies. (it was on this board and they were sooooooooooo nice)

It was great and even my shy fiance was giddy. We did not stick out at all and there were lots of adults around.

The second breakfast we did was at Hollywood and Vine at MGM. It was absolutely FABULOUS!!!!!
We made ressies for 11 am and used it as a lunch. The place was deserted and we got to have lunch items too. There were only a few kids and the characters played around with us a heck of a lot more......... I even got up and danced with DALE!!!!! It was the best and most memorable feast of our trip. Don't miss it....the food was great too!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

On my last trip, myself and a friend went to Crystal Palace on halloween night and had dinner with Pooh! we also had breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The characters were great and spent alot of time with us. It was great and I have loads of pictures.

Chef Mickey´s was great for us (30 years old couple)
everything was great: food, service, characters
special moments: seen the smile on the people´s face when they saw MICKEY!!

In the MK, my favorites are the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner, and Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch. In MGM, Hollywood and Vine is excellent...I've only eaten lunch there, so I don't know if they do dinner. In AK, the Restaurantosaurus breakfast is very good, and offers some different breakfast foods than you usually get at the breakfast buffets. At the resorts, I like the Cape May cafe breakfast. Chef Mickey's for dinner was a little loud and wild, but if you have kids with you, they'd love it. The other things I like there are the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review, the Polynesian luau, and meals at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in the WL. The Whisoering Canyon is not exactly a character breakfast, but the waitstaff are "characters". Don't ask for ketchup and don't drop your fork!

We love the Crystal Palace and have lunch there every trip.

DW and I used to do the CB at Olivias at OKW when they still had Pooh and friends. We have done Liberty Tree Tavern on our own as well. At either these we did not feel like we stuck out.

Another one that is usually good is the Garden Grill or Chef Mickeys.:smooth:

Liberty Tree Tavern is what I recommend as the best for just two people or a solo traveller...lots of character interaction and what a great photo opportunity for adults and the characters. This is my DH and I favorite place to eat in the MK, and we make it a must each trip..I have so many nice photos from there with them all...

I supposed it depends on the day and each individuals experience..but we do not recommend Chef Mickeys for anyone without kids. We went with a group of 8 adults and were completely ignored by the characters in December..one passed by and waved once but never stopped. MY DH and I ate there once on our own too, not a one came near us at all, it was kinda rush rush, eat and get going so someone with kids can eat here....However, when we ate there with my sis and her family, we got a choice table, the characters fell all over the kids and spent a lot of time with them....

We will not be eating there again, it does not appeal to us really anymore..we do not like being ignored like that, not when other places you can meet the characters and have a lot of attention from them without kids along...

We continue to enjoy the Garden Grill. The last time was on Superbowl Sunday, so we got *lots* of attention. <g> I like the fact that, when going to character meals, the characters seem to be just as much attention to the grown-up groups as the families with kids. :)

I still enjoy Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and Chef Mickey's with Mickey of course. I am still a kid at heart. NO doubt about that.

dh and i have really liked garden grill and liberty tree tavern. :)

Has anyone attended the Ice Cream Social at Epcot? I think it sounds like fun but don't want to stick out as the only "adults".

Dh and I did 1900 Park faire for breakfast & Chef Mickey's for supper in 1999. In 2001 we did Ohana for breakfast and Crystal Palace for supper.

The characters paid attention to us too and it was fine, we didn't feel swamped by kids or families.

We took a later dinner time and there were fewer kids then...

Character meals are one of our faveoirte things to do even if we dont' have kids!

Not yet, but we are planning on doing it in September. If it is anything like lunch and supper there you will not feel like you stick out!
