We are going to Disney in January and would like to go to a Character Breakfast and supper. We will be travelling with a 21/2 and a 11/2 year old. We don't care if we have breakfast at a resort or in a Park but we want supper at a resort. What Character meals are the best and what are the best times to go to avoid big crowds. Also should we drop one of the character meals to go to the Icecream social?

I think if you want a Character Meal eating at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is a must, to avoid the lines make sure you make a reservation, to avoid big crowds make either an early supper or a late one. I also have personally enjoyed the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, also want a reservation for that one too.

Thanks. I am considering Chef Mickeys for supper if we decided not to go to the icecream social in EPCOT.

well out absolute fave characture meal is at Liberty tree tavern which is in the MK. But the manager was awesome about freightened kids.

we like an early breakfast at breakfastasaurus at the MK, one of the few to find Donald at. Chef Mickeys is fun but might be intimidating for tots.

This restaurant is actually at AK not MK.

Crystal Palace is fabulous. The food, characters, and atmosphere is great. If you are planning to go to Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace would be an even better choice as you'll get a different set of characters. Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks. I am still undecided. I've read that the food at Chef Mickeys isn't that great. Would you go to Crystal Palace over the Castle? Do you think character meals are intimidating for toddlers?

We like Crystal Palace. Good food for adults as well as kids. Lots of interaction with characters. How can you resist Eeyore?

Liberty Tree Tavern and Chef Mickey's.

Chef Mickey's. I've read some negative reviews about the food but we have been many times for dinner and not one complaint from us. I must admit I haven't tried a lot of their entrees and hot vegetables, as I'm content with their salad bar, peel and eat shrimp, rolls, prime rib, and parmesan mashed potatoes. I then have barely any room for dessert. But they have some good ones so I make room. I'd say you have to try it once for yourself. And it also depends on what you are looking for on a buffet. We've done 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace. Chef Mickey's is still our favorite.

We've been to almost all the character meals. I think the one my children got the most attention at was at the Yacht & Beach Club, I think it is called the Cape May Breakfast. Goofy, Chip & Dale, and Minnie are there. We actually have pictures of our children playing tic-tac-toe on the floor of the restaurant with Minnie Mouse. That's how much attention I am talking about.
