Well, since your daughter is very young and probably has not made up her mind on her favorite characters yet, which are your favorite characters?
Ariel's Grotto in DCA has an all-Princess only character meal for breakfast and dinner (I think lunch, too, but not sure). The Princesses are brought to each table in kind of a formal way, from what I hear, and I
think the food is brought to your table as well. I could be wrong on that. I have not done this meal yet, but it gets high marks from people. This one is the most expensive of all the character meals.
Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn inside of DL features Minnie, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, Chip and Dale, Max, and various others who seem to pop in from time to time. The food is buffeteria-style, so you get up and pick what you want and the servers hand it to you, then you bring it back to your table. I have also not done this meal yet, but hope to eventually because the characters seem great. I have heard that it is kind of disorganzied and chaotic at times, and there have been mixed reviews of the food. This is breakfast only.
Storytellers Cafe (Critter Breakfast) at the GCH features the 'woodsy/jungly' Disney characters (think Lion King, Jungle Book, Brother Bear, Tarzan, Song of the South, Pocahontas, etc.) like Koda, Kenai, Chip, Dale, Meeko, and sometimes Terk. I have also seen Baloo, Rafiki and Timon there in the past, but apparently they are not regulars. I have also heard of Pinocchio and Br'er Fox/Bre'er Bear characters showing up on rare occasions. The restarant is really warm and earthy and cozy. You can order either the buffet or off the menu. It is quiet and calm in there. I like the restaurant during the non-character hours better than the actual character meal, but I have done the character meal twice. It is breakfast only for the Critter breakfast.
Lilo and Stitch in the PPH I have not done this one yet, but I hear it has a Hawaiian and Asian kind of flair to it. You can get the buffet or off the menu. The character meal is breakfast only. In addition to Lilo and Stitch, there is also Beach Minnie and Surfer Goofy. Here are some photos of the buffet from got2travel on the Dining thread. Here is the link:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1253888&page=82 I have been eating at this place since 1992 (16 years and counting), so clearly this is my favorite. I have rarely been dissatisfied with it. The food quality is excellent, the variety of food (all buffet; no menu orders) is amazing and everyone would be satisfied, and the characters are good. The regulars are Goofy, Chip, Dale (yes, they get around!), Baloo and Pluto. Minnie shows up from time to time, and there are rotating guest stars who appear, ranging from Alice and the Mad Hatter, Aurora and the Prince, Jasmine and Aladdin, Belles, etc. This is probably the second most expensive after Ariel's, and I feel it's worth it (others disagree). Goofy's serves breakfast/brunch and dinner buffets, with a break during the day to prepare the dinner food.
