What charachter meals would you suggest for each of the parks?

We decided to not partake in the dining plan, which I am still disapointed about.:confused3 But my husband is right, we need to save $$
Anyway I would like to do one charachter dinner for each park. My thoughts are Cinderellas Royal Table for MK and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for Epcot.
Is there a lua (sp?) at the poly that has dancers and charachters? Also is there an African themed dinner w/ dancers and charachters?
We have 4 charachter dinners to plan and I guess I need the board's wisdom and experience. We have two boys aged 17 and 7. Thanks, Lisa

You have two boys right? With boys I would skip the princess meals.

MK - I would choose any but CRT, I am pretty sure it is the most expensive one there. You could do instead: Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Inn. Or you could leave the park and go to Chef Mickey in the Contemporary.

Epcot - Garden Grill has characters.

DHS - I am pretty sure the only character meal there is at Hollywood and Vine at breakfast and lunch with JoJo, Goliath, Leo and June which your boys may be too old for.

What is DHS? Also, are there only princesses @ Cinderellas royal table? Is it in the castle? I thought maybe they would like to eat in the castle. The oldest one does not care where we eat as long as he eats. He is saving his money so he can try "all the world." LOL I tell him he will not have time nor enough room but he says that is all he wants to do @ Epcot is eat even if it means being on his own. LOL Ahh teenagers. He is so skinny but he really packs it in!:lmao:

DHS is Disney Hollywood Studios formerly MGM Studios.

I have two boys and a 12 year old girl who is not into princesses and we are doing CRT for dinner. It's not a princess meal, and we are all excited about eating in the castle.

We did breakfast at Crystal Palace in MK. The food was really good and the character interaction didn't feel rushed. It is Pooh and Friends.

We just got back & did the latest breakfast offered at Crystal Palace at MK, Hollywood & Vine at DHS, and the earliest lunch at Garden Grill, as well as breakfast as Chef Mickey's. All were fun. We also did supper at Akershus, and I agree with PP that with boys, I'd probably skip it. DS is young enough that seeing the pretty girls was cool (and DH is old enough to think it was cool to see them), but we went for my nieces. Also, depending on your trip date, Akershus just raised prices, to include the photo package. We moved ours to breakfasts because the IL's decided that we didn't need the dining plan. The only way I could justify going to them was to do the breakfasts or lunches.

We liked:
Liberty Tree Tavern @ MK for dinner
Donald's Safari Breakfast @ Animal Kingdom

Maybe you could do DRT for dinner at the castle. The fairy godmother is still there but the princesses are not. Eating in the cstle is a very neat exprience but it is very expensive. We really like Crystal Palace at MK. I like garden grill at epcot as well. I cannot comment on PSB we have never done it. We have 3 little boys. Also there is a luau at the Poly but we really didn't care for it and it isn't cheap but that is just my opinion. There is Tusker House at animal kingdom also we ate here on our last trip in Nov./Dec and it was excellent. Have fun.

If money is the concern then i would say to go for the breakfasts as they ten do be less costly. We loved the Crystal Palace in MK and Donalds Safari in AK. The Garden Grille in Epcot is one of our favorites and we also enjoyed play-n-done in DHS although it may be too young for your kids.

Another one that is really great for breakfast is Ohana's at the Poly. They have Mickey, Stich and Lilo.

Yeah I would not do a character meal at the Studios, maybe SciFi where you can sit in cars and watch cheesy B scifi movies and trailers or 50s Primetime. Your kids are too old for the one offered.

In MK we liked CP, very good food for lunch which is cheaper than dinner.

We also liked Chef Mickey at CR.

Garden Grill at Epcot was really good and fun, on another thread that had older kids someone suggested Morroco for the belly dancers.

We did not do a character meal at AK.

Have fun
