I was noticing the great rates L & M has for our dates in March and was wondering what type of cars do they actually carry?

We're looking at Economy, Compact or Midsize.Have you ever rented one of these and if so what did you get?:)

Thanks kindy for all of your help! :sunny:

Zurgswife that site is for Puerto Rico. On the regular L & M site it doesn't mention the type of cars at all. I wonder if the Puerto Rico site is the same as the regular L & M site?

Thanks for you help.:D

OPPPS.....Sorry for the confusion.....

Pluto4President, that's the same site that I have but it only shows an idea of what the car looks like and I can't seem to find what make they are ie:Ford,Chrysler,GM ets.

Thanks anyway!:)

Actually it's a bit of a mish mosh opf everything. Foreign cars, Ford cars, haven't seen GM's.

I have had 2 Mercury Villager minivans and one Mitsubishi Convertible.

Oh..... ok that's great then. Thanks for your quick reply!;)

I've rented an ecomony car from L&M 3 times. I got 2 Toyotas and 1 Daewoo. They were all very clean, low miles and 4-door.

Thanks for all of your help. These cars sound really nice!:)

I used L & M car rental in October, 2002 and we had a midsize, which was a Toyoat Coralla 2002. It was low milege and had plenty of interior and trunk space. Also, it was very clean and is more convenient than taking a shuttle to the off site locations.

I am returning to Florida next week and will be using L & M again. Got a great rate $ 123 ( midsize) and it included all taxes.

The only issue during the October, 2002 they did not initially apply the AAA discount, which they resolved when I returned the car and gave an extra $ 10.00 off the quoted price. Good luck & enjoy!!!

Thanks mickey!:)

I didn't even think about applying our CAA (or in the US...AAA) card. I'll be sure to check it out.

Did you book online or just phoned as I won't book online what with their encryption being inadequate. And if you phoned did you get the same low rate as they show on their web site?

Also must you pay for your booking right away or leave your credit card # with them but no payment until you pick up or return your vehicle?

Sorry for all the questions! But thankful for all the answers that I can get!;) :)

With rental cars you have to give them a credit card number that they can charge to before you take the car. They will check the card and can place a "credit hold" on the account. Your account will not be charged until you return the car.

If you pay cash you normally pay up front, plus in some instances they want an additional amount which they will refund if you return the car as scheduled without damage.

Hi Carol.:D I know what we have to do when we get to reservation desk at MCO but was wondering about reserving the car online and being able to change that reservation should rates drop. We did this with National a couple of years ago and never had to give our credit card on line to reserve .....but we did when we picked the car up at the airport. Thanks!:)

sammi,

I did not book online in this instance and they did not take a credit card when I called the first time. They did give me a reservation number which I presented when I check out the car. You will need a credit card to rent for security reason. Many credit cards gold and higher will cover the deductable. You should check with your insurance carrier to ensure you are covered. The rental companies make a significant profit selling car insurance most of us don't need. They did not charge the card until I returned the car.

You will need to bring a copy of your car insurance policy or insurance card indicating the type of coverage. Since I live in N.J. our insurance cards only indidate we have coverage. It was not specific enough for L & M. Although I had the insurance paperwork with me they did not ask me for it.

The number for L & M is: 1-800-277-5171. Prior to calling I would check websites such as Orbitz et.al.,pertaining to their car rates. At least you will have something to compare and if it is higher you always ask them to match it. Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't. Let me know if you need any other info. Good luck!

Hi Mickey! Looks like you have a little case of the "hiccups" Hee hee!;)

Thanks so much for all of your help...........I appreciate it.:)

We are covered for rental cars and we always get a letter drafted up by our insurance company to show that we are covered.I was just wondering if L & M actually take your CC # and process it when booking over the phone. But you've answered that question!;) I also keep checking other web sites such as Orbitz.

Thanks again for you help. It's a bonus when you can find a cheaper car rental company when we have just a 60 cent dollar Canada! ;)
