What car does this describe?

we have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra with 150K miles on it. We haven't had to do any repairs to it whatsoever. My sister has a 2004 and she hasn't had any problems with hers either.

My FIL owns his own auto shop that my hubby helps him run and Corolla is the car they say is one of the most reliable along with the Mazda 3. :)

Throw in the Ford Focus, which shares it's engine/transmission/underpinnings with the Mazda 3 and tends to be less expensive.

Nissian I had my bought my first brand new car out high school it was Nissian Sentra 1993 runs great. Until bought new Nissian Sentra 09 that looks like a Atlima. That car is huge compare to last sentra. Mom drive the old sentra and she does not take care the way I did. But then again mom don't take care of anything.

My sister just leased one - $150 a month.

Another Corolla recommendation here. We have had 4 since 1980; all but the latest were used by DH to commute 80 miles RT daily. Dependable, great mileage, carried lots of stuff with the back seat folded down (that's why we bought the latest one. We needed something to carry "stuff" while in FL.)

During the same time period we also own(ed) 4 Camrys, an Avalon, and a Toyota truck. I also had a Chrysler LeBaron but it didn't stand up like the Toyotas.

See, I'm one of those cynical guys that says "11 cars in 30 years, averages out to about 6 years a car for 2 drivers, if they were so good why didn't you keep them longer?"
Full disclosure, we've owned our family car for 23 years. And my mom was a little upset that her car gave up the ghost after "only" 27 years (and THAT car was a Pinto!)

I'd go with a Corolla. I just bought a new one ('10) in July and have been really happy with it. Prior to that, I had a Scion xA, which was also an awesome car. I only got rid of it because it was getting up there in mileage and I wanted something newer for road trips. In my 20s, I had a Toyota Tercel that went to 150,000 with absolutely no problems until it got totaled in an accident. So... Toyota lover here!

My husband has a Mazda6 with 90,000 miles and he has had a lot of small problems with it that I've never had with a Toyota.

My mechanic recommends Honda Civics if you're looking for a reliable used car. We didnt' listen and bought a used Chevy Malibu. I like my Malibu, but it's a 1997 and is starting to show its age! :) My sister in law swears by Subarus. We have a good used Subaru dealer in our area and she's had some great luck with all her cars.

I drove a 1982 carolla from 1995-2000 when it was totalled in an accident. It had 250,000 miles on it, and had just started slipping a gear in reverse.

I have driven 2 Kias(sephia and spectra) to 100,000 miles plus since then. I didn't love them, but they got the job done for what i could afford. I bough both used. My sister bought the sephia to go off to college, and has since totalled it. The spectra has been passed to DH as his commuter car. It is till going strong with no problems.

I now have a 2010 honda CRV, and I LOVE it. I commute about 40 miles round trip plus getting DD ti dance 3 days a week. I get about 23 miles to the gallon and is it so much more comfortable for us than the compact sedans I have had in the past.

Often overlooked are Subarus.

I LOVE my Forester! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Yes, Suburu's will run forever! Dh's last suburu was ruined by faulty mechanical work or it would still be ticking. The one he has now will probably outlast my hardly driven Honda.

Honda Fit.

From Car and Driver:
The Fit has once again conquered Car and Driver's 10Best Cars list. This highly respected automotive magazine had lots of praise for the Fit, from its entertaining drive to the 2nd-row Magic Seat®. "We're equally zinged by this Honda's upscale interior, its quick and precise steering, an engaging shifter, spot-on ergonomics, a windshield as big as a minivan's, and a rear seat that is both adult-habitable and drops to the floor faster than a Marine pumping push-ups… the Fit offers a fun-to-drive quotient that proves basic transportation isn't always basic."[1]
