What candy do you buy in Epcot Countries?

Whoever originally posted about curly whirlys....... I'm not sure if I love you or hate you!

I just got back and made a stop in the UK especially for the candy. It was love at first bite I ate 4 during my trip and brought home 6. I only have a lonely 3 left and I'm so sad. Incidentally, I REALLY did not like the flake bar, which shocked me. Ironically enough, I went to Publix last night and they now carry Flake bars in the import section! But no curly whirlys! Now I have another unavailable chocolate love (Kinder bars being my first.)

So thank you, I think! And the rest of you put the curly whirly down as a must try

Haven't read the whole thread, but I have to put my vote in for Pocky from Japan. We really enjoyed that.

The plan on our last vacation was to try a lot of different candy, but we ended up buying something like 5 different kinds in Japan and realized that it was difficult to eat all of it (or "keep it" in warm weather) and we forgot to buy anthing from other countries. We won't make that mistake again.

In Japan - I didn't really "love" the rice candy and we didn't really enjoy the jelly bean type stuff. But we loved the strawberry Pocky.

Also, not candy, but now a favorite treat - Pineapple Dole Whips in MK. Yummy.

my son is nuts for the Haribo Cola Gummis from Germany. i have to agree, they were pretty darn great and i am not a candy lover. (especially if it isn't chocolate!)

Sorry about that. I am not sure if I was the first to post, but I was one of them. They are my favorite. I just found them at Cost Plus World Market for .99 each, if you have those stores in your area. Hope that helps. Maybe ask the Publix Manager if he can get Curly Whirly's in. The best part about them is that they are not as bad as a regular candy bar. Half the fat and calories.

just another vote for the fabulous candy in japan. pocky, carmels, milky, gummis...you really can't go wrong. it's not technically candy, but germany sells little packages of chocolate covered gingerbread that is amazing also!
count me among the few that didn't like english chocolate! found it a little too hershey-like for my tastes (i hate hershey...can't put my finger on it, it's just really sugary and tastes like it has a lot of 'filler' or something). am a big cadbury cream egg fan, but they didn't have those there

That is so hilarious that you just responded to my post from last month! I was just coming to this thread to post that all you DISers must have taken our advice b/c I just got back yesterday from an unexpected "escape Wilma" trip, and the UK was all out of Curly Whirlys (pout!)

We love the Haribo Fruity Pasta Sour Gummi Candy that you can get in Germany. I've seen Haribo brand candy around before but never this type. So, anytime we are in "Germany" my DH makes me stock up on it!

I'm so glad I found this thread! I never even thought about chocolate from around the world. We always buy stuff in Germany (Milka, Hitt's, Kinder Schokalade, etc.) because my husband's German, but it never occured to me that they would have that stuff in all the other countries - DUH

I think this (chocolate) might be the ONE thing that my husband won't get mad at me for spending money on. He has such a sweet tooth that when we go to see his family in Germany, we take an empty suitcase with us just to be filled up with chocolate and snacks that we can only get there - and I'm not making that up.

Europen chocolate is so much better than the USA's I'm afraid.

I think I'll ask my husband if he thinks we should take the extra empty suitcase into Epcot.

In London, I remember you could buy a soft serve ice cream from a truck on the street and they'd stick a Cadbury Flake into it. I need to try getting hold of a soft serve ice cream at Epcot somewhere.

That is called a "99" in the UK. Really common. Oh cadbury's is totally different in the UK compared to the stuff you guys get in the States. After all, your stuff is reallly just Hershey's I thought with a Cadbury's label on it. I do feel sorry for you guys with Hershey's chocolate; it's gross!!! The other thing I see people talking about is called a Curly Wurly. Haven't had one in a long time, they are chewy. Ahhh, now I need my chocolate fix. Did I mention the Cadbury's chocolate desserts we get here too???

Me and BF are going to 'candy around the world' in Epcot.

And yeah, even though we get it all over here, I will be eating lots of UK chocs! I'll have to stock up and take them back to ASMo's so I can enjoy them whenever!

I'm also bringing a Cadbury's Advent Calender over from the UK - Jay will be bringing a Pixar-themed one - too.
