We used discover for a long while until their payment cycles got shady.
We were late twice--once, they processed the payment late. Okay, no harm no foul. The second time--we dropped them forever.
In the oddest chain of events:
*payments received after 5am--yep, 5 A.M. are not credited until the next business day.
*Due date was calculated to be Sunday, so for it to be "on time", it had to be there on a Thursday, to get in in time before the 5am deadline.
*Then there was a holiday thrown in the mix.
Anyway--we had our payment in by Wednesday. It was not processed until Tuesday---due to the 5am monday rule, Sunday is off, Saturday is not a business day, Friday was a holiday...or some craziness.
I figure a company that has "fake" due dates to squeeze late fees out of us, was not worthy of our business.
True story!
I don't know if they have changed, but I would be very careful. We'll never use them again.
NEVER had this happen. We have used Discover since 1992 and love them. I always pay a couple days ahead and their time is payment before 4pm is processed that day. We bought a new house and I charged everything and was making a couple payments a month.
Discover is my #1 go to card -- we get tons of cash back each year and every few months I have the bonus applied to our balance. Super Easy
