What can you tell me about the Discover card?

We used discover for a long while until their payment cycles got shady.

We were late twice--once, they processed the payment late. Okay, no harm no foul. The second time--we dropped them forever.

In the oddest chain of events:

*payments received after 5am--yep, 5 A.M. are not credited until the next business day.
*Due date was calculated to be Sunday, so for it to be "on time", it had to be there on a Thursday, to get in in time before the 5am deadline.
*Then there was a holiday thrown in the mix.

Anyway--we had our payment in by Wednesday. It was not processed until Tuesday---due to the 5am monday rule, Sunday is off, Saturday is not a business day, Friday was a holiday...or some craziness.

I figure a company that has "fake" due dates to squeeze late fees out of us, was not worthy of our business.

True story!

I don't know if they have changed, but I would be very careful. We'll never use them again.

NEVER had this happen. We have used Discover since 1992 and love them. I always pay a couple days ahead and their time is payment before 4pm is processed that day. We bought a new house and I charged everything and was making a couple payments a month.

Discover is my #1 go to card -- we get tons of cash back each year and every few months I have the bonus applied to our balance. Super Easy

Does Disney accept Discover at all of the parks, hotels, stores, and restaurants?

We have a Discover card that I use only when they have the 5% bonus, but even then the limit is so low that it's usually not worth it. Last December they had the 5% bonus at restaurants so I stocked up at the restaurants that had "buy $50 gift card and get a $10 gift card free". Figured paying for them with the Discover card added to the bonus $$. Otherwise, the points add up so slowly that I am much better off using my MC.

You should also check on the Citibank Simplicity card. I applied yesterday for that one. I got 21 months no interest on purchases and balance transfers (of course balance transfers have a 3% transaction fee). I am planning on getting plantation shutters in my house (a couple at a time because they are $$$) and this was great! I can start with no interest for 21 months:thumbsup2

......it is my right hand man!!! Lol
More and mire places are starting to accept it. I do keep a MC (debit card) in my wallet as well just in case!

Same here but I keep a VISA as my back up. Most places I shop take Discover now though.
