During the past few years of our visits to the World, we've only tried this once on Kilimanjaro Safari's (in 1999) and were told "no".

How does this work? Do you wait in line with your spouse with the kids?

Any info would be appreciated!

We have done this at several places, and each place was different. I can't believe you were told no and KS. If I get a NO, I would ask someone else.

At Test Track you wait in line without the family, and then when they come out, you have a special pass and go in the out. At Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and a few others you can wait together-- first one parent boards and when they come back the other parent boards. It depends on wheter the ride ends and starts in the same place. At Space Mountain you go down one level and wait at the exit, then come back up when your partener gets off.

Hope I made this clear. LOL

Usually if you have one kid that likes the ride they will let them ride once with each parent.

Thanks for the reply DeDixie.

So, if the load/unload is in the same area you wait together and if not you get a pass.

Do you tell the first CM you see that you want to do the parent swap?

Thanks again.

yes, just tell the first CM that you see that you want to parent swap and they will tell you how that particular ride works.

The only reason I can think for being told no at KS would be because it's suitable for all ages, so maybe the CM meant that there was no reason the child couldn't ride? We were told this at Buzz Lightyear, but I explained my dd was having a very nervous day and they let us swap

We have used the child swap option many times but find its different from attraction to attraction and even from day to day. I recommend asking a CM at each attraction you want to swap how they would like you to do it. Sometimes you wait in line together and swap at the loading unloading area, Primevil whirl does it this way. Other times you wait at the exit and return with a swap pass through the exit, Space Mt does it this way. You wait in the gift shop and return through the exit. The "child swap" pass looks like the fp - just white paper. IIRC its only available on ride that have a height restriction, so that's probably why it wasn't available on KS. I guess if you need to child swap on an attraction that dosen't offer it you could just use a fp instead.

I HIGHLY reccommend using the baby swap!! It's really very easy and a great time saver! Make sure to ask a CM at every ride before you get in line! It varies from ride to ride and it seems like day to day! Also,if you forget to get your baby swap pass (not sure exactly what it's called, but it's really just a free fastpass good for up to 3 people) you're SOL, so make sure to ask a CM for it before you get in line!! Have a great time!!:wave2:

I guess officially it makes sense that you can only babyswap on rides with height restrictions, but we have swapped on all sorts of rides, Snow White and Haunted Mansion both spring to mind, no height restriction but there is no way my dd would ride them, and we were able to swap, of course, it may well depend on the mood of the CM on the day
