What can you tell me about Miniature Golf

Our flight comes in around noon on day 1, so we will need something to do on Tuesday afternoon-early evening on 4/20. Just so happens the family loves mini golf, so thought we'd try one of Disney's 2.

Specific questions:
1. Approx cost per player?
2. How long does it take to play?
3. Should I expect to have a long wait to play?
4. Are the courses STROLLER friendly? (we will have a baby in tow)
5. Which course?...I'm leaning towards Fantasia, after a long winter in CT, not sure if Winter Summerland is where we want to be!
6. How many minutes walk to the Boardwalk or should we drive since we'll have the baby.
7. Are the courses generally open late (after parks close)?


BTW my older kids will be 7 and almost 4

I've only played the Fantasia Gardens course once, but I'll try my best to answer your questions.

1. Approx cost per player? I believe it was about 4.00 per person but I don't remember exactly. I also had a 10% discount with my AP.

2. How long does it take to play? That really depends. When I played it was just my mother and I and it probably took us less than an hour. But with kids who may take longer to play, and four people playing, I'd expect it to take longer than that.

3. Should I expect to have a long wait to play? I went in October on a Saturday evening and I didn't have a long wait at all. We were behind a family with two little boys and so sometimes we'd get backed up waiting for them to finish the hole, but it wasn't bad.

4. Are the courses STROLLER friendly? (we will have a baby in tow) In my opinion, no, at least not the ones at Fantasia Gardens.

5. Which course?...I'm leaning towards Fantasia, after a long winter in CT, not sure if Winter Summerland is where we want to be! If you don't want to drive, Winter Summerland may not be an option. You have to take the Blizzard Beach bus to get there and if BB isn't open, the bus doesn't run. Personally I really want to play that because it looks fun, but I never have a car when I'm at Disney. Fantasia Gardens was a lot of fun though too, so I don't think you can go wrong with either.

6. How many minutes walk to the Boardwalk or should we drive since we'll have the baby.

As I mentioned, you can't walk to Winter Summerland. You can walk to Fantasia Gardens and it would probably take you about 15 minutes from the Boardwalk.

7. Are the courses generally open late (after parks close)? I don't remember the exact hours, but I want to say on a Saturday in October it closed around 10. You should call first or check around on these boards to find out for sure.

We went to the Fantasia Gardens the second week in December, but we went on the course that was similar to a real golf course (more sand and water hazzards, no windmills or anything) Certainly a tough course, but the cost was like 10.00 a person without discounts (I could have gotten the discount if I was thinking, but noooo, full rack price for me and my dad) Not stroller friendly on the real golf side, took us about one hour to one and a half hours. No wait time.

I think WinterSummerland sounds more child-friendly than Fantasia Gardens.

My nephew (10yr) and I went to WinterSummerland during our last trip in June. We went at around 9:30PM and it was practically deserted. We took our time and actually played on both courses because there were so few people there. One course is Santa and elves in Winter and the other is Santa and elves vacationing in Fla. Really cute. I thought it was very well done for miniature golf. My nephew had a good time and the holes aren't so difficult so even little kids won't get frustrated. We had a free pass that came with our vacation package but as I recall it was less than $10 for adults. All in all, I thought it was a nice way to wind down after a long day at the park.
