Hi everyone, I've booked BBB for DD for her 4th birthday in oct (going to CRT for lunch afterwards). Just wanted to know a little bit more about it as this is the first time we've done it. How long does it take? Do they take plenty photo-pass pics? I read somewhere that you get to keep the make-up afterwards is this right?

Thank you:thumbsup2

here is a good overview of BBB: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1893384

how long does it take: the actual hairstyling, nails and make-up takes about a half hour. They do have photopass photog's there and as for how many photos they take, it depends on the photog. Personally I would tell the photog to please take many photos. I actually pre-ordered the photopass CD and plan to tell them that fact. as for the make-up yes, you do keep the make-up kit as it is unhygienic to use the same kit for another child.

Also, if you plan to have a photo shoot package afterwards I would add more time than just that half hour. I assume you are going to the BBB location in the castle? Then I wouldn't worry much about the time in between BBB and lunch, as they they are literally steps away from each other. I have an hour window between our BBB ressie and our CRT ressie. If they are running behind at BBB I can just step over and let CRT know, and I can also get the photo package photos done after CRT.

you and your child(ern) are going to have a ton of fun!

both of my girls loved this. lots of photo's taken i think we were in there for about 45 mins and they get a bag with the make up used on them, thier hair accessories and a sash to keep. The hair lasted for a good few days they put so much spray on!

Your DD is going to love this. I took our DDs in 2007, the younger DD was never really into dressing up, so I was just planning on getting the hair and make-up package however she decided that she wanted to be dressed like a princess so she ended up getting the full package. It was a lovely experience. The photopass guys took loads of pics and did we and then they had the photoshoot afterwards. We got some really good photos. As a PP poster said we got the make-up and nail varnish at the end of the session plus they putt some lovely mickey clips in our youngest DDs hair that we still have. I think if I remember rightly it took about an hour from checking in to leaving.

Thanks everyone- the link to the BBB thread was great! lots of pictures. I know she will love being dressed up like a princess.

I think i'm just as excited as she is. :)

My DD has been aged 3 and 4 and will be going again in October. She loves it.

Each time she has had the middle package - hair, nails, makeup and worn her own dress.

Remember to book from 180 days out. They take a cc number and charge $10 if you don't show.

Takes approx 30 mins. We prefer an early morning apt to get maximum 'value' out of it and they are less likely to run late.

After the make over go to the nearby tinkerbell's treasures shop(think called castle couture now?) and they will take photos - you can have them put on your photopass card at no extra cost.

Each girl is given a sash and a pink bag with the makeup palette in, 2 nail varnishes, face jewels and a comb. Depending on the style they also get a clip/tiara/hairpiece. DD has had the princess bun both times - they get a tiara and mickey clip with that.

Lots of people will stop and say arrgh a princess all day.

The bun style is 'robust' (tons of gel used!!!) - DD got a good 3 days out of it!

I plan on taking DD's own dress too- Does she need to be wearing it before we go in or can she change there? I've booked the middle package too- for the castle BBB. DD also has really curly hair, i'm hoping it will stay up in the bun style. (fingers crossed)

Thanks :thumbsup2

Rachel.

DD wore hers there both times but they do have changing facilities.

Don't worry it will stay up. It is gelled and sprayed. DH made me wash it out after a few days as he was sure it wasn't good for her hair. It even survived blizzard beach!

Yeah, it has been reported to stay in a week+! However, some of those also had unexpected hair loss from the pony being pulled too tight from the start. make sure it isn't pulled too tight, and let them add more gel if need be. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the info- will make sure they don't pull her hair too tight and not leave it in for more than a day two. :)

my dd had this at DTD (it wasn't available at MK then) and loved it - she still has the make up (although it's just in her memory box now with the hair piece). She loved it so much, it was a real treat for her and she was made to feel so special - it did so much for her confidence, especially as so many people told her how pretty she looked as we continued our day at DTD. Almost got tears just remembering :)
