DS will be 5 on Christmas Eve. Since we plan on doing Christmas in FL with family, we thought we would do Disney just for his birthday. There will be 6 adults and 1 child. We plan on going to MK and doing everything we can. We've done MK before and DS loves the rides there.

Has anyone ever done a birthday at MK? Are there special programs that we should make sure we check into? Can you have impromtu birthday parties at the resturants? What can we do to make this a special day for DS? We want him to float through Disney.

DD turned 6 last December 8, when we were at Disney World.

If you show up at Town Hall and tell them it's your son's birthday, they'll give him a pin that says it. CMs and characters all over the park will wish him a happy birthday.

As far as birthday parties go, if you can get into a table service restaurant, they'll be able to help you. Liberty Tree Tavern gave DD a special cupcake, and Minnie Mouse helped her blow the candle out. We went to CRT for breakfast that morning, and all the characters made a big fuss. She got a card from the restaurant, and we had arranged for a white chocolate slipper to be there. They turned it into a beautiful birthday cake.

The problem is that a) we were there for a week, and all the celebrations weren't on the same day, and b) we had ADRs and told them when we made them that we would be celebrating a birthday. You might want to make those reservations. You can undoubtedly get LTT for lunch. There aren't characters then, but I'm sure the servers will help.

One of the best things was watching Wishes. A CM learned that it was DD's birthday, and she led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday. Very cool.

Give Customer Service a call and see what you can arrange. And Happy Birthday, all these months in advance. party:

Get a button at guest services at the park you go to that day and I swear every Cast Member will say Happy Birthday to the button wearer! I did it last Sept. and felt like Queen for a day! I went to Whispering Canyons for my b-day last year and HAD to ride a stick horse all the way around the restaurant singing Happy Birthday to myself loudly!!!! I did it (and I was GREAT at it let me tell you!) but I was so mortified. Kids and DH LOVED seeing mama be a Doofus :lmao:
