Hi,We are arriving in Orlando at 11am Wednesday and then picking up our rental car and going to lunch. Now what can we do between the time we finish lunch and check-in time for our vacation home at 4pm?? We are going grocery shopping about 3:30pm and the store is about a mile down the road from our home. How do we kill the time in-between? Any suggestion?
Thanks,Debbie

Well if you're going to the Super Walmart on 92, I'd give yourself about an hour and a half. It's extremely busy especially on Saturdays with all the other villa renters stocking up, and they have a big Disney section you can spend some time browsing in. There's also the old town of Kissimee that I've heard has some shops. We were going to do that, but we couldn't wait to see our house, so we drove to it early and it was ready, but we were given a lock box code so there was no office to stop at.

I fretted during the long drive that we'd all be disappointed about no 'on property magic', so pulling up to see a Mickey topiary in the yard, feeling the cold air conditioning when I opened the door, hearing the kids squeal when they saw the pool, seeing how spotless everything was....aaahh, one of my favorite memories, LOL!

Have fun!!!!!!

Snoopymom,Thanks for the heads up about the grocery store. I think we should be headed for the store about 2:30 instead of 3:30.That will certainly cut some of the wait time off...I forgot how busy grocery stores get on the weekends. So we will probably end up having around 1 1/2 hours to kill.Maybe we'll take a drive to old town Kissimmee.Sounds good to me...
It would be nice to be able to check-in early if our home was ready! The owner has been great so far, very flexible with pricing and security requirements. I can't wait to get there.I'll just sit outside the house for a couple of hours and maybe they'll take pitty on us and let us in to swim in that gorgeous pool!! (Just kidding!)

A couple of nice places to kill time are Downtown Disney and Celebration. Nice shops, restaurants, places for a yummy snack, etc.

Frequently, home owners will let you check in early if the house was vacant the previous week. If they had to wait for the other people to leave and get the place cleaned, then you'll probably need to wait for the scheduled time.

Hi Steve,We've been to DTD but not Celebration. Is Old Town Kissimmee the same place as Celebration or are they two different places??
I'm going to e-mail the owners and see if it's possible to get in a couple of hours early. If not we will probably head for Celebration or Old town Kissimmee for a couple of hours.I know it's going to be really warm in Orlando on the 9th so we want a place we can sit down and relax.....
Thank you for the suggestions,
Debbie

No, Celebration is a different place. It is located on 192 just East of I-4. You can go straight there from the airport. I think its route 417 that takes you directly there from the airport South exit but don't quote me on that.

There are a few nice restaurants in Celebration so you can have lunch there. We like Cafe D'Antonio though we haven't been there for a couple of years.

If you have not done Universal before, you could always go there for lunch and look around. They have many restaurants like Hard Rock, Motown, Nascar, NBA CIty, Margaritaville.

Hello.....shopping.....outlet mall.....Disney outlet store......

Now you're going to ask me where it is and I can't answer that because I'm always the passenger  It's a great place to grab a new Disney t-Shirt for each member of the family to wear to the parks and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The last time I was there they had some great Disney coloring books too! If you are interested do a DIS search on Beltz Outlet Mall.
