What can I say... It was a perfect 11 days...Well almost

I have so much enjoyed reading your trip report. What a special Mum you are, making such a magical vacation for your family.

I truly hope you get to return soon.

I loved reading your trip reports! I'm going to go look at the pictures now. Thanks for sharing your trip! :sunny:

Thanks to everyone for your sweet comments!

I've had several ask how I made the tickets, so here are the instructions. I am a scrapbooker, so if you are not and don't understand something, please please ask. I just assume everyone knows what embossing and such is.

Basically, I typed all the little messages in a word document at font size of 5 - Walt Disney Script font. I needed two tickets of everything, but could print 4 of each on a single piece of white cardstock, so I did, just in case I messed something up. (I used the cardstock because I knew I'd be scrapbooking the tickets, so I wanted them to be acid free. Everything I used to make them is archival safe.) I then cut around each little message, leaving about 1/4" of space from the message to the edge. Using a Versamark pad, I heat embossed just the edges, using a gold embossing powder.

Then, using gold cardstock, I cut out rectangles 2" x 1" in size. I used a small hole punch and punched semi-circles out of the corners, so it would look more like ticket. I ran all my little white retangles through a xyron (makes anything into a sticker) and put the sayings into the middle of the golden tickets. I then embossed the edges of the gold cardstock, with gold embossing powder. If you need a better picture of the tickets, let me know.

I am currently planning our trip to the West coast for 2007. I haven't started making things yet, but it's basically going to be the Amazing Race. An 18 day road trip and each morning they'll have to locate their pass for the day and figure out where or what they are suppose to be doing. I've got a year to work on that. LOL

OMG ~~~ How amazing!!!! I am crying my eyes out!!!! I just love what you did for your little boys. It gives me some more ideas for our trip, my DS is 6 and I want this trip to be magical for him as well. ( I thought an arrival gift basket was good.........) but, WOW, this is simply fantastic!!!

I do have one question - what was the tour you did with Peter and Wendy?? I think my DS would LOVE it........ please let me know!!! I've only got 2 weeks before we leave!!!

Again, I'm so glad you had a wonderful time!!!

It's called the Family Magic Tour. Call Disney before they close and see if they have any openings for your dates. I believe they limit the tour to about 20 people or so. We had a blast! If your son hasn't been there, I'd recommend doing it on a day after you've already been there for a day. I was glad we'd spent several days at the Magic Kingdom because Ryan knew where some of the things were that we were suppose to be looking for.

I really love your trip reports. I wish I had thought of something as remotely neat as what you did. That was unbelieveable! It brought tears to my eyes

You meet just inside the MK gates at 9:45. Tour leaves at 10:00am and ends about 12:30pm, I believe. Peter Pan has stolen Captain's favorite hook and the tour group must follow Peter's clues to find it. In the end, Peter and Wendy take the kids to see Mickey's Philharmagic or some other thing. It was a blast. I think it runs about $25.00 per person. If you have an AP, you do get a discount.

Thank You ~~ My DH actually found it on the WDW website. I think we've pretty much decided to do it......... now let's hope they have room for us!
Do I just call CRO to book it? Thanks, Wendy

I'm pretty sure you just call the regular number. I think I only called WDW-PLAY for the pirate cruise and the wishes cruise.

Hope you are able to get in on one. Have a blast!!!!

Mary

OH, I'm getting the stuff today to make some golden tickets......... only mine are gonna be mickey ears, and I'm going to try to figure out how to make mouse footprints!!!! Thanks for the idea!!!!

Wendy

So I've been hoping you were able to get in on the tour? Did you do it? Your tickets sound adorable!

Thanks! I guess I deleted the ticket picture at some point, not thinking anyone would be reading this trip report this far past. Here is a pic I took this morning. If you need it clearer, I can certainly take one with my other camera and the macro lens. This was a quick one. If you look at the layouts, this one is on the bottom corner of the Crystal Palace layout. You can get a better idea of the ticket size, that way.
