OK, I'm totally new to all of this Disney stuff: codes and rates....it baffles me.

SO, here's my question:

I booked and paid in full my reservation for POR, 4 nights, (April 18-22) for our honeymoon around last September. (I've never been and I wasn't sure how quick they would book up...plus, we wanted to get that bill out of the way before our wedding.)

The total was somewhere around $1400.00, a little more than that acutally.

Since all of this free refrigerator talk, I decided (just out of curiosity) to go to the DW website and do a "Mach-Booking", just to see what the price would be now.

It was only like $1200.00....maybe less than that. :earseek:
Now, I feel like being the early bird got me a slap in the face. I know it's stupid to be upset over a couple of hundred bucks, but when you're newlyweds, every penny counts!!

So, is there anything I can do? Will they refund me because of the new rates?? Or did I just book early because I was naive and uneducated and got screwed?

Thanks to everyone in advance!!

I would make new reservations then cancel the old one....they won't mind, I think it happens all the time. I'm always game to saving money!! :cool1:

I haven't tried it though, so maybe someone can give you first hand advice???

Definitely rebook-we rebooked one trip three times and ended up saving $700! Use that $200 and go to Victoria and Albert's for dinner! And make sure you let them know it's your honeymoon!

I would definately rebook. We almost always do b/c we find a better deal. Good luck!

So it's okay to rebook even though I've already completely paid for everything??

Will they just credit me for what I've already paid?
Should I ask if there are any codes when I book?

Thanks guys!!

Yes, they'll credit you. :)
Yes. Ask about codes.

have you figured out WHY the price is higher? Is it because of the Magic Your Way tickets vs the Ultimate Park Hopper? Be sure you are comparing apples to apples.

Also, did you purchase trip insurance? That is non-refundable.

They might just be able to convert your Dream Maker package to a Magic Your Way package....ask.

I think it cuold be because of the Ultimate Park hopper tickets, as these are what we purchased. What exactly is the difference between the two?

We did purchase travel insurance, but I included it when I did the samply quote.

So, what should I do? Is the new Magic pass thingy the same as an ulitimate park hopper? Will my park hopper still be valid if I don't change it?

First, your trip and tickets are still valid as booked.

The Ultimate Park Hopper gave admission to all parks, with park hopping, as well as admission to the water parks and DisneyQuest - for the length of your stay, in your case, 5 days.

In order to price a similar package with Magic Your Way, you would need to use the 5-day Magic Your Way ticket with Park Hopping and Magic Plus Pack (also known as the premium ticket).

The major difference at this point is that the Magic Your Way with Plus gives you a limited number of Plus options, while the UPH gave you unlimited (ie. you could go to water parks everyday if you wanted to)
