What can I do with my Southwest credits?

Hi!

Last November, we chose to be bumped from a flight to LA and got $450 credit each - it expires in November. Is there anyway to use this after the expiration date? Can I purchase tickets and then change the date on them? Can I use them for other people? Any suggestions?

You can call SW and have them extend the credits for a fee. I can't remember the fee but I'm sure they can tell you.

I wish!!! Im going to try to squeak one out in October to WDW, but its just DH and me!! lol.....

We are taking a missions trip to MT in a few weeks, but SW doesnt fly into Glacier. The rest of the summer we hang at the Jersey shore.

What I'd really love to do is go to WDW in early December to see the Christmas decorations!!

Does anyone know, when you use credits to purchase a ticket, does the receipt look like anything different from regular? I might be able to take a business trip, but I wouldnt get reimbursed for travel if the ticket was already free - lol!!!

The Receipt will show (usually in how the fare was purchased) how much of the fare was a ticket exchange.

2 Security Fee is the government-imposed September 11th Security Fee.

Not sure of SW policy, but with some other airlines you have to use the credit prior to the expiration, but the travel can be after the expiration. You just have to have redeemed the credit before it expires. If SW operates the same way, then you could do your Dec. trip no problem.

You should be able to use them for other people as well.
