We are planning our first visit to US/IOA in a little over a week.

This board had given me a lot of great info but I do still have a few questions.

We will be there on Thursday, Oct 22 and plan to be there at rope drop. We will not be staying on site nor will we have express pass.

Is there likely to be a huge line to even get into WWoHP or will the crowds be light enough to avoid that?

Also, what kinds of things are we not allowed to bring into the parks? Can we bring drinks and snacks like at Disney World or no?

We were told this weekend that you can bring in anything other than alcohol.

If you'll be at IOA and bring your own lunch there is a great area with tables behind Three Broomsticks to eat. I have never seen many people back there and have seen people eat picnic lunches. It has a great view of Hogwarts and is covered.

There won't be a line to get into the WWoHP areas in either park. The only lines will be for the rides. I recommend doing the full queue for both Forbidden Journey (Hogwarts) and Gringotts at least once and then you can use the Single Rider line to ride again if that works for your family composition.
