What can characters not autograph?

I just got a white 9" Mickey Vinylmation and I'm hoping they will sign it....

Do the characters have restrictions to what they are allowed to sign?

They can't sign a t-shirt if you are wearing it. They will sign the shirt, but not if you are wearing it (this has been our experience). We've also had them sign pillow cases (a fun and inexpensive souvenir).

I don't think there is a limitation on what they can sign. Most likely nothing inappropriate. You may need to hold it while the characters sign.

I know I've heard people getting the blank vinlymation style cars and having them signed.

Alittle tip: We had something similar. Called a Munny, 18" tall we used as our wedding guest book. Get a package of different colored sharpies. The colors really pop together. When you are home put a clear shellac over it to protect the ink from ever rubbing off.

What a great tip!! Thank you so much! :)

We've done the vinylamtion Mickey 3 times now- (we have 3 girls and they have marked which ones they want one day..) Anywya, we havent had any trouble with getting them to sign it. Keep it in a big ziploc bag to protect it, and hopefully you have a backpack or something to carry it around in. Pillowcaes were a pain in the rear.

This is so reassuring to here! I was reading somewhere that they weren't allowing them to be signed!

  • Characters can sign a lot of things, here are some things they can NOT sign: money, clothing on a person's body, skin, non-Disney logos or slogans, government documents.

They Vinylmation will be totally fine for them to sign it.

As a pp said, they CANNOT sign anything your wearing, and if you're doing something like a pillowcase or shirt it's nice to have something hard like a book to place under it while they sign it!

The only issue I ever had was Piglet wouldn't take my Sharpie once so this may be an issue with non-paper items as a pen doesn't always work on certain items. He pointed to a huge black smudge on his hand and shook his head. The handler gave him a plain black pen. I had a scrap paper book so I was fine but if it was something like that I would have been missing him (which him and Eyore can be hard to find compared to Pooh and Tigger).

@Sagginit that was probably to avoid getting the marker on Piglet all over your stuff. The attendants have pouches to put their pens and markers in, and the characters often get their hands (and more!) messy throughout the day.

In general, nothing illegal (no defacing money), body parts, anything you're wearing, if it was something soft you'd need to bring something to stabilize it on (so like a clipboard if you wanted them to sign a pillowcase or whatever). But the vinylmation, if they have the dexterity, is A-OK!
