What cabin to request?

We do not plan on getting a golf cart and we are staying in the cabins. Is there a particular cabin # we should request? Is there a cabin within reasonable walking distance to board the boat? Sorry for the ?'s, we will be first timers at FW.

Cabin 2102. I just stayed there. It is walking distance to the pool and shopping. It is close to the internal bus stop that will bring you the per for MK. See TCD review about the cabins on the 100 loop. There are hard to get but they are really close to the boat launch. I did notice a path right behind the cabins. It is high traffic.

There are only two cabins on the 100 loop. And, the Fort management cannot assign them to guests, except on rare occasion if one of them is open at the time of check-in.

If you are making a request in advance, then the 2100 loop is the closest to the Meadow and Settlement area.

If you cancel the cabin ressies and contact www.CampAtTheFort.com about renting an RV, you could get right next to the marina...and save some serious money as well. The cabin loops are a bit secluded (except for the 2 cabins in the 100 loop, which is almost impossible to get either one of those). If www.CampAttheFort.com is booked on the dates you plan to go, check with www.MakeCampingEasy.com for an even less expensive alternative with the option of a much more desirable location.

...and don't apologize for asking questions!! That's what we're all here for. :flower3:

I'll have to save this option for next time. We were able to get the military tix and 40% off room. Thanks for the tip though.

Does anyone have a map of the internal bus route map? Where exactly do you get on the boat?

Cabin loops are 2100-2800.....catch the boat at 10 (cabins at the bottom of the map...boat at top)

BDR and others . . .

FYI the bus routes changed (again) around the first of this year.

The orange route now also goes through the cabin loops.

Here is the new map (sorry, this has 120 written on it- I saved it so I could sell it on E-bay):

This change is a big improvement for the cabin guests. Two bus routes coming through the cabin loops=much less wait time.

Thanks for the map. So, if we are able to get loop 2100, would the bus go to the left and up to the boat with no stops on the purple route? How close is 2100 to the pool with the slide? I appreciate all the knowledge and info you all are full of!

If you got on the bus at the stop at the entrance to the 2100 loop (the stop is actually across the street, but very close), the Purple Settlement bus would stop at the 2000 loop and group camping area before arriving at the Settlement Depot. The Orange Settlement bus would stop at the 1200/1300 loop, and then the 900 loop (this is where you could exit for the pool), and then continue to the 800 loop before arriving at the Settlement Depot.

If you want to walk to the pool from the 2100 loop, it is not a bad walk. I would say about 500 yards from the path that goes to the 1100 loop. By comparison, the walk from the boat dock at the MK to the castle is about 400 yards.

How early do those internal busses start running? We are "rope drop" people and like to be on one of the first busses out of the resort. Thanks!

If memory serves me correct, the busses begin running internally around 7:00 AM and run til around midnight, depending on Park Hours
