what building is closest to everthing at SSR main pool

I believe the buildings in the Springs section are closest to the main pool.:)

The food is closest to the pool. Unfortuneately, they won't let you sleep in there.:rotfl:

we just returned. rooms starting with 35xx thru 38xx are a stones throw from the bus stop and pool. Lower number rooms (ie. 3511) are on the pool end. We were in 3635 and it was on the farthest end of the building from the pool and bus. 35xx is first floor, 36xx 2nd floor, 37xx is 3rd floor and 38xx is 4th floor.

Next time we want something around 3514. first floor, corner unit.

P.S. these are considered "Springs" units

The springs is closest rooms 3501-3836 and 4101- 4436 being the closest then 3101-3436 if you can't get that then the Paddock 5501-5836 Then Congress Park 2501-2836 The rest of the building get further away also paddock and congress park have quiet pools and springs does not

I was wondering the same thing. We have our first SSR trip scheduled for April and we like to spend time at the main pool. Do you put your requests in prior to check-in or just ask when you check-in? We don't usually have too many requests other than non-smoking.

I think you're suppossed to request when you call for reservations. Say Close to Main Pool. There are no guarantees. When you go to chekck in ask if there's anything close to the main pool. If you don't ask you get what they give you. I asked for a DTD view (jokingly..it was XMas week..doesn't hurt to ask). I took a smoking room (normally I wouldn't) at Congress Park. SHe said it was a garden view, but actually it was a DTD view!! So make sure to ask at time of reservation and at check in.

A lot of the Congress Park "Garden view" rooms do have nice Downtown disney views, they are just not straight on views....you may have to turn your head while standing on the balcony to see.

IMO there are not that many "bad views" at SSR. Even the balconies of the Springs rooms that overlook the parking lot actually face the main pool area...great for people watching and certainly convenient to all amenities!

Have fun planning!

Just ask for something near the main pool.

It was my understanding that there are GV in each building? Does anyone know if there are more than one in each or where they are located? Will I have trouble getting one in January 08? What type of view do they have?

There are 2 GV's in each Building. One on each wing, so they are on the ends. Depends on what section you get as to the views. The Congress Park GV's all have DTD views from the picture window, but the balconies are on the side and face courtyards.

The GV's (at least two of the buildings) in the Springs look out to a water view with fountains (it's actually a small lake or large pond with a fountain in the center). Very pretty view......DH and I were in the center section of one of these buildings for our anniversary trip last year and our balcony actually was dead center with the fountain. It was very nice in the evening to sit out there with a drink and relax.
