What book do you think would make a great movie?

The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. It is different than some of his other books as there is a lot of suspense involved and a good mystery.

This book was in my top 5 Nicholas Sparks books. Would LOVE to see this as a movie! :thumbsup2

Diana Gabledon's Outlander series would make good movies as well.

There was some talk about this being made into a movie several years ago, and I think there was even something on Diana's website about it, but nothing ever happened. I'm nuts about this series! But who would play Jamie? Can't come up with a single actor.

I've been writing a screenplay in my head for "Birds Eye View" by JF Freedman.

I'm a historical romance junkie! I would love to see any of Julia Quinn/Lisa Kleypas/Johanna Lindsay's books become tv movies or mini series. They used to do that with Catherine Cookson and Barbara Cartland novels. :cloud9:

Ender's Game

I thought there was talk of making this one? If so - I'm totally on board!

But also, The Forever King by Molly cochran and Warren Murphy (and please - hurry this one before Bruce Willis gets too old to play Hal!)

Oh I almost forgot...Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins!

I am reading the series now, and I would love to see it made into movies.

I picture James Mcavoy playing Jamie

There was a UK TV miniseries made of it. It wasn't excellent but IIRC pretty good.

Thank you! I just finished my last Sherlock episode and want to start a new series while I exercise. I just bought Season one off of Amazon unbox for $11.:cheer2:

Daughter of Fortune - Isabelle Allende (not sure on spelling there) I pictured Keira Knightley in the lead when I read it.

The Glass Castle - Jeanette Walls

Would love to see Johanna Lindsay's books be made into a movie. I would love to see Beauty by Robin McKinley.

The Belgariad by David Eddings: lots of really cool characters here, and as an epic fantasy buff, it would be so cool to see this translated to the big screen.

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (still waaaaaaiting on that last book). I'll admit, I mainly just want to see the Aes Sedai and the Aiel. They could leave out the other characters if they really wanted to :rotfl:

It would be cool to Anita Blake or Rachel Morgan on screen too. Plenty of book material there. Merry Gentry would be a good choice too.

Also, please bring back Dresden Files. Movie would be awesome, but I would settle for season two on television, even if they did totally butcher how Murphy is supposed to look.

Another vote for Ender's Game, but I also agree with Neverwhere and Good Omens.

There's been a trend recently of turning graphic novels into movies, and I'd really like to see them do Maus.

There has been chatter for a few years of this being made into a movie. :confused3
I wish they would make it already.

*sigh* Ender's Game has been in talks for more than a few years now. There was talk when I was in high school, & I graduated in '94. And while I'd love it, I don't know if it would be done justice....

Catcher in the Rye. As much as I would love it I would probably hate it more but still...

I think they pleaded with him for years

Confedaracy of Dunces

"I dust a bit...in addition, I am at the moment writing a lengthy indictment against our century. When my brain begins to reel from my literary labors, I make an occasional cheese dip.
