Let's check in after the holidays and see what the DIS'ers are reading. I'm just starting a new book, "Ireland" by Frank Delaney. It's a fictionalized history of Delaney's native country. So far, it's a very good read. :paw:

I'm currently re-reading Songs of Earth & Power by Greg Bear. Great fantasy novel. Just finished the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I loved it!

These is My Words by Nancy Turner

It's a lovely book about a girl becoming a woman in the Arizona Territory during the time of Geronimo, and all the trials that came with that time period. There is history, romance, Indians, the hard life they sometimes endured as well as losing loved ones.

I'm waiting for my sister to finish Sarah's Quilt, which continues the story.

"I Am Charlotte Simmons," by Tom Wolfe. Is college really like this???

The Boys of Winter. It is about the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team. I am also rereading Wicked....further cementing my belief that the book is far superior to the show.

"Random Family" by Adrian LeBlanc. So, so sad that there are people who live like this.

"The Broker" by John Grisham. Just started it.

Just finished Lovers & Players - Jackie Collins

Brilliant story - have to be a JC fan though

How was the book Wicked? I was just reading about it on Amazon and wondering.

Wicked. I could type pages about it. It has some very dark and perverted moments, but it is actually a very moving story. It is about that person you know, who could do amazing things, but they don't know it themselves. That is Elphaba. It is about pain and suffering throught a persons life. It is about that one friend who will love you, no matter how you turn out. It is about a drunken, cheating mother, a religious zealot father, a handicapped sister, and a brother who is the only normal one. It is about...life.

(can you tell I love this book?) ;)

I'm about to start The Life Of Pi.

I was almost finished with Sandra Brown's Led Astray
when I started James Frey's A Million Little Pieces
not really sure which one I'll finish first!

As soon as I get off the DIS, I am going to start A Million Little Pieces.

Name All the Animals by Allison Smith.

"Little Earthquakes" by Jennifer Weiner. I like her books - they are both funny and touching.
