What book are you currently reading?

I'm reading The Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke. I'm not really that into it. I just don't think it's as good as her other books.

What's this House book about?

I need something scary or edgy. I'm headed to the bookstore this week, so I need some ideas!

They had a movie clip for the movie Running With Scissors on Yahoo that looked good, so I got the book over the weekend. After reading the book, I think I'll pass on the movie, I usually like quirky, but this is strange.

I read the book a few years ago and it was definitely odd. But it's one of those things that is so weird that it may do well on the big screen. I thought the previews looked very funny.

Just finished Perfect Nightmare by John Saul and Angels Fall by Nora Roberts.

I'm just starting Heart Trouble by Kathy Hogan Trocheck. Heart Trouble is part of a mystery series that is based in Atlanta and the main character is a former cop who now owns a cleaning service (House Mouse). She also still has her PI license. The author now writes under the name of Mary Kay Andrews (Savannah Breeze, Savannah Blues, Hissy Fit, etc).

Last night, I just finished "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards and then started "The Birth of Venus" by Sarah Dunant.

I only liked "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" -- thought it could've been better. So far, I'm enjoying "The Birth of Venus". I'm enjoying it more than "Memory".

I just finished Marley and Me. I laughed through most of it and then cried. What a delightful little book.

I finished that last week. Anyone with a dog (especially a large breed dog) should read it! More times then one I read a passage, laughed and said "Yup! Mine did/does that too!"

Ending was sad, but anyone who's had a pet knows that it's unavoidable.

If you want a pet book that'll make ya bawl your eyes out then read "Where the Red Fern Grows". I can never finish that book without

Reading Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot right now. Finished The Penalty Box in a couple of hours. Both are bits of fluff but fluff is what I can handle right now.

We call those "Beach reads"! Perfect for summer vaca. where you don't want too "deep" of a book!

I'm waiting for another Ann Rule book to come out but in the mean time I'm reading My Sunshine by Catherine Anderson.

Right now I am re-reading the In Death series by J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts). Absolutely my favorite series - the next installment comes out in Nov. :teeth:

Just finished "Twelve Sharp" by Janet Evanovich. Love the series.

Now I am reading "1776" by David McCullough

Just finishing up The Devil Wears Prada . Great for mindless summer reading. If a movie comes out from a popular book, I have to read it first. Of course, then I often skip the movie. Most movies don't measure up to the books.

I'm reading Taken by Barbara Freethy. One of my must read authors. Planning on going to Barnes and Noble and get my July supply, including the new Nora Roberts.

I just started Vanishing Acts by Jodi Piccoult at the recommendation from a friend here on the DISboard. Just finished The Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson (I needed a good Disney fix) and Peter & The Starcatchers by Ridley Pearson & Dave Berry. I'm ordered Peter & the Shadow Thieves by Ridley Pearson & Dave Berry to read while I'm at camp the next two weeks.

I pretty much read fluff, especially this time of year....right now I am reading Something Blue by Emily Giffin.

The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers.

Kteacher, I just finished "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. It has changed how I eat. Scaaary. :scared1:

"Nightime is my Time" by Mary Higgins Clark. It's the first book I've read by her, but it won't be the last. Where has she been all my life that I've overlooked her before?

Just finished reading "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger. Wow! Totally captivated me, I didn't want to put it down.
