What book are you currently reading?

Besides the World History book I have to read for one of my classes, I just finished reading Mr. Popper's Penguins with my 11yo dd. It's a grade school book, but it was great to read with my kids as that is what I do now for our own little book club.

I am still finishing The Red Badge of Courage, too.

Last night I finished House by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker. It was AWESOME!! I read it in 3 days :)

I am now beginning The Da Vinci Code.

MARY MARY by James Patterson----eh, so so. :confused3

I took that book with me on our December trip to WDW. I read it while my hubby was swimming. We walked around CSR and took some pics. I set it down by a fountain to pose for a picture and left it there.:sad::furious:

I'm reading "The Emancipator's Wife" by Barbara Hambly. It's about Mary Todd Lincoln's life before and after marrying Lincoln. Historical fiction and v. interesting! It's for my book club.

That sounds really interesting, Daxx. I'm going to put it on hold at the library. Thanks for the tip! :teeth:

I've had a busy reading week because I had three 7-day books come in at the library at the same time. I read Dark Tort by Diane Mott Davidson, Anybody Out There? by Marian Keyes, and now I'm reading The Secret Supper by Javier Sierra.

All three excellent and totally different reads. :teeth:

Where did you leave off on it? I will send you mine when I am finished, however the corners have been eaten off by a 13 pound Dachshund. :sad2: However, none of the pages are missing, so its still in OK shape.

Poohbear, thanks so much for the offer, but I recently got another copy :)

Just got done reading Thura's Diary with my 7th graders if that can count. :) Haven't started my summer reading yet!

I just finished Pigs in Heaven by ooohhhhh man!!! I am tired and my mind is blank, what they heck is her name.

Well, she also wrote Prodigal Summer and The Poisonwood Bible. This one (Pigs) was by far my favorite of hers I have read so far. One of the best books I have read and since I average three a week, that is a lot of books!

I need something new and that Mary Todd Lincoln one does sound really good.

I just started to read Night and next is London is the Best City in Americia

700 Sundays by Billy Crystal, very funny and poignant.
Julie and Julia (sorry, can't remember the author) very funny also.

I just finished "The Company Man" by Joseph Finder. Next is "Most Wanted" by Josephine M[can't remember her whole last name].

Kingsolver!!! Pigs in Heaven is by Barbara Kingsolver.

I'm reading, "Bitter is the New Black". So far its an interesting book.

That's Barbara KIngsolver. I love her writing! My favorite of hers is "The Bean Trees" - you should pick it up.

I am almost finished with "Once Upon A Day" by Lisa Tucker. VERY good book, it's one of those I know I will be sad when I've finished it.

Just started The Rule of Four. Someone recommended it to me so I figured I'd give it a try.

One Door Away From Heaven by Dean Koontz ~ I'm really enjoying it! :thumbsup2
