Can anyone who has visited Marriott Grande Vista suggest a decent building to stay in? Preferably a short walk to the pool but not too close because of noise. Any help is appreciated.

16 days to go.....:Pinkbounc

Melissa: We're staying there for a week starting on June 7th. We don't mind a little noise from the pool, and we were told that Building 81 (next to the main pool area) was just refurbished this spring, so we've requested a top floor room in that building. Don't know when you're going, but if it's after June 14, feel free to e-mail me or post a follow-up to this, and I'll be happy to let you know how it went.

Duh, I just noticed you said you had "16 days to go", so I guess I won't be able to help. Sorry.

That's okay!!! We leave on 6/14! I will make a note of building #81, I didn't know which ones are refurbished and which ones aren't:confused: so that helps! Hope you have a fabulous time!

You have a great time as well. There are other buildings that have been re-done recently, and some buildings are completely nonsmoking while others are not; I lost my info as to exactly which are which, but I'm sure the resort staff can tell you.

We just got back from there last month.

We stayed in bldg 91, 6th floor "Denia" is the name of the building, non smoking. Excellent view of the golf course and pool.

We overlooked a quieter pool and jacuzzi, we loved it. People swam late, but the noise was minimal, we had our balcony doors open all the time. The main pool area gets really really crowded, if you don't get down to the pool by 9:30, towels from guests will cover every seat.

Hope this helps - it's a bit of a walk to the main pool/deli from here, but we didn't mind it at all.

Thanks lorix2!!! Hopefully the staff will be able to accomodate me if I request a certain building #. We purchased a timeshare week from a friend through interval for our stay, and I am not sure if we can make requests like other visitors.

Anyway thanks again and keep the advice coming!!!:D

I don't see why you can't make a request, no matter how you've come to stay there.

We rented from an owner and got all our requests (top floor, 2 BR unit, near a pool). Even the checkin staff said our room was fantastic when we briefly considered asking for a lake view villa, but they said they wouldn't give up this room for that and I'm glad we didn't switch. Although the lake is pretty, on the other side they have started construction on something and we would have heard and seen it all going on. You have to walk all the way around the lake to get a look at it thru the fence. You won't be bothered by it while enjoying the resort though.

You will thoroughly enjoy this resort, my kids loved it just as much as we did.:D

Hi! I just found my map of the Marriott Grande Vista. We were there in November and we really enjoyed this resort. We stayed in Building #93 which is a nonsmoking building near the Main pool area and with a golf course view. All of our requests were met. We even asked for this specific building with a unit on the top floor. Its a quick, easy walk to the main pool and activities. Loved the view of the golf course - very peaceful. We could see a space rocket launch from our screened in balcony and the fireworks at Sea World from the front landing. We stayed in a very spacious 2 BR unit (one bedroom was like a little apartment on its own. My son LOVED having his own fridge - okay it only held water but it was the novelty.) The indoor play area is great for kids. Let me know if you have any other questions. I tend to keep notes/info from the resorts where we stay.

Melissa, I noticed last year you stayed at Cypress Harbour. Which building and floor should I request for cypress harbour. Plus was it nice? Were the units run down. I have heard they were just renovated last year. Let me know please.

Hey Tootsie...

We stayed in building 55 called "summerland key". This place is beautiful!! You will love it. We saw the fireworks at sea world every night from the balcony and condo was very spacious. We tried to book Cypress Harbour again this year but there wasn't any vacancy. Any other questions, I will be happy to try and answer them. Have a great vacation!! You wont be disappointed in Cypress Harbour.

I should mention we that we were a little bit of a walk from the pool area, but not so far that it was an ordeal.

:teeth:

Where can I see a map of the Grande Vista grounds and buildings? I will be there from June 14-21 and I have made my requests for where I want to stay. I just want to see the layout of the resort.

I would love to see a map also. I may call Grande Vista myself and see if they will fax me a map.

Coachv: We will be there 6/13 - 6/20!!!

Well, get this. I went to the fax to pick up the map and the lady sent me a map of how to get back and forth from the airport and it also lists where the other marriotts are located in the area. Anyway, that's not what I meant! I havent taken the time to call her again. If you call and get a RESORT MAP, let me know!

Melissa

Look at vacationclub.com under resorts and see if it is there. I called Marriott and this is where they told me to look. I am checking it out next.

I did not find much there. I wonder why it is so hard to get a map of the resort?

I actually have a map of the resort with the building numbers. Let me know what specifics you need and I'll try to describe it. We stayed in building number 93 which was a nonsmoking building very near the main pool/activity area. Our unit looked out over the golf course. I highly recommend this building if you're looking for a close location and a nonsmoking building.

How nice were the rooms and how quiet was it? You would think there would be a map somewhere on the internet. I may try the tug.net website.

Look what I found!

Hope this helps!!!

The rooms were very nice. We had a 2 BR unit (one of the bedrooms was a lockout unit - like a small studio). We had a unit on the top floor. Everthing worked great in the unit - loved the washer/dryer and large jacuzzi tub. We didn't hear a peep from any of the other units during the whole time we were there.

I have some more info written down at home - so let me know if you need any more info.
