What bedding in the pack and play?

Hi!
In February we are due to stay at Saratoga Springs with our DD who will be 2 years 9 months. She sleeps quite happily in a pack and play on vacation but we are concerned what bedding to bring with us.

Until recently she slept in a grobag which was excellent. It felt familiar and warm and cannot be kicked off in the night. They are very popular here in England, not sure if you use them in the US.

Since potty training she sleeps with a quilt and pillow that fit her cot bed perfectly. However, these would be pretty bulky to pack.

What do you all bring? I am considering buying a toddler ready bed instead but she will be able to get herself out of that, at least with the pack and play she cannot get out while we are asleep. Any tips?

Thanks so much,

I brought a sheet (they do provide a sheet but like to use my own) and a light blanket. I put a sleeper over my kids pajamas in case they kick off their covers. A sleeper is similar to your "sleepsuits" but in a heavier (usually fleece i think) fabric.

Thanks for your reply.

We have a couple of fleecey sleep suits that she wears in bed when it is really cold. They have feet in and zip up down the middle and right down one leg. I guess that would work with a blanket or a really light padded quilt/blanket. It would be easier than carrying a proper quilt.

I know that at WDW she is usually so exhausted she actually asks to get in the pack and play! That is great!

Thanks for your help.

We brought our own linens, pillow and a crib quilt and were so glad we did. The pack and play fitted sheet is not nice at all - we took the pillow as her carry on and she slept beautifully with it on the plane too so it didn't take up a lot of luggage room. As an added bonus, the linens are an extra touch of home which might help her sleep better.

I am a nanny, and when my son was small he napped in a Pack & Play at my employer's home. I always put a small quilt or something between the fitted sheet and the mattress (it is a tight fit) because the mattress is plastic. It made a softer place for him to sleep, and it was a bit more breathable than just the sheet. In a pinch you could probably use some towels.

Then I would bring a small blanket or quilt for her to cover up with because I think all of the blankets at the resorts would be too large.

Enjoy your trip! :)
