what bars have you enjoyed sitting at and having a drink?

Great thread!

I have a question for you all that I can't seem to find an answer to. Hopefully, you might have it!

Can you go up to the Cali Grill lounge just for a drink and appetizer, or do you now have to have an ADR for the Grill itself?

Thanks!

Not really sure about this but I would think you could without an ADR. Although, anytime I've dined there (5 times in all) the lounge seats were always full. Might have to wait or get there before 6 pm or after 9pm. Might want to check Disney Dining Reservations for info (407) 939-DINE or the dining section of www.allearsnet.com. You could always sit up at the kitchen too.

I dont know if anyone has ever heard of this but i remember reading once about this game people play in Epcot "a drink around the world". Has anyone ever heard of this? I cant remember what board it was on but it looked like fun and I wanted to read about it. Thanks!

OMG! I love DATW!!! We do this at least twice each trip, but you have to spread it out across the entire day or it gets really dangerous :rotfl2: Like can't figure out which bus to take back to your resort dangerous!

We (me, DH, my sisters and mom) are partial to the Crew's Cup. (We love the Y&BC, so it's convenient.) Had a nice time New Year's Eve '06 at the AKL bar before our dinner at Jiko. I can't remember the name---it's upstairs from the restaurant... Oh, the Rose & Crown! Good atmosphere. My older sis and I introduced our dad to Black & Tans there the last time we went with him before he died. So it's a sentimental favorite. We also love to get champagne or kir royales at the outdoor stand in France and drink them while we watch the fireworks.

And many more...

I am Chinadoll's sis...I will second all of the above, and add that it's also fun to take the Black and Tan's across to the gardens behind the shops in the UK and sit a spell, particularly if the British Invasion is performing.

We have also had a nice drink once in the Bellvue Lounge at the Boardwalk....

We've also had some fun at Jellyrolls, but that's a bit more involved than simply sitting and enjoying a drink!

:thumbsup2

I can' think of the name of the bar in Fort Wilderness. To take a break from MK, take the boat over and get a Martini in a Mason Jar!! Sit inside or out side on rocking chairs and relax with Nature!! Send the kids to the petting farm or fishing! Ahhhhhh!!

Ya mean Crockett's Tavern? I have to try that place someday.

A favorite of my DW and I is the Radio Room (Bellevue Lounge) at the BW. It is especially nice when the weather is pleasant enough to sit outside on the porch. :goodvibes

My dh and I don't drink but we do go to the lounge at POR for appetizers because they have the best piano player around. I can't remember his name but he is so much fun. The lounge fills up fast because he has been there for years and people like us go to hear him every time we are there. We are looking forward to seeing him in about 46 days.

The piano player's name is Bob Jackson and we love going to POR lounge just to hear him. He has his own website that we check often to see his schedule so that we can plan our visits. He is usually there from Wednesday to Saturday nights.

I don't know if you got your answer yet, but I will answer anyway. You do not need a reservation to go up to Cali grill for a drink and appetizer. Infact you can just let the check-in desk know that you want to go up to the bar for a drink because there is no ressies needed for the bar. When my DH and I went in June (first time there) we did have reservations to the restaurant, but afterwards decided to have a drink at the bar. We became real friendly with the bartender and she told us to come back that Friday night because that was when the action was really happening (we went on a Wednesday when there was not much going on). She was the one that told us not to worry about ressies.

With that being said, our favorite bar to relax and have a drink is at Cali Grill. Nothing beats a glass of wine in hand while looking out at the amazing view of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon (that is also our favorite place to watch Wishes). Our secod choice is the Tambu Lounge in the Poly. Just love the atmosphere of the tropics and then having a live hula dance with a live singer and Ukelalie (spelling???) is just pure magic.

My favorite bar at WDW used to be the Cat Walk Bar at MGM. It closed a long time ago, but I still miss it. Now another vote for Dawa and Martha's Vineyard.
Cat Walk was our favorite bar too! We spent a long time their Dec 31, 1999! Since it wasn't on the map, it wasn't crowded. Probably the only place in MGM that day!

Since then our favorites are Jellyrolls, and the outdoor bar by the pool at Coronado Springs. Which sounds really good right now since the wind chill outside is negative 30!:beach:

Feb was my first solo trip. But I think one of my favorites was the bar at Yak and Yeti. Hands down the most comfortable bar stools. The drinks were awesome as was the food.

Ive enjoyed my drink at all the bars I have had one in :)

but do love the lemon slushies in France... (and a couple friends with their tower making abilities), but JRs and AC are my two favs. Martha's Vineyard is nice too.

Yet another vote for the fun Dawa Bar....also, a vote for Rose and Crown Pub area....we like to sit outside or in....relax.....:cool2:

I know its more an evening/night time drinking hole but i'd just like to say that i dont think you can beat JELLYROLLS! Yes it is expensive if you want 'your' songs played but it is truely awesome! Loads of good natured fun!

Having said that i cant think of a 'BAD' bar in WDW. Love them all!:cool1:

What type of music does he play - old piano faves like Sweet Caroline to sing along to? Or just backgraound music?

My title could be for drinks or bars...
Being an experienced WDW bar patron...
The Gurgling Suitcase - OKW a little bar that makes you feel very welcome
Tune in Lounge - it's great to watch the families come through as well as just relax from the Studios race
Mizners - Grand Flo - One of my favs - good for a couple or a group of friends and the staff is great - Hi Christine!!!
Rose and Crown - give me a PINT!!! Go in the International Gateway entrance and you are right there.
The Outer Rim - the view is great
Raglan Road - live music and dancing
Maniquins - feeling a little freaky - check out the revolving dance floor...

Maybe I have a problem....:drinking1

Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge is the prettiest bar on property, in my opinion.

I'm also very fond of:

Victoria Falls at Animal Kingodm Lodge

Gurgling Suitcas at Old Key West

Flying Fish

California Grill

Pool bar at Wilderness Lodge
