What Babysitter Service for Special Needs?

I've been hoping to get back to the House of Mouse for a December trip this year. It looks like I will be travelling alone this time. All previous visits DH has come along.

I have three children ds2, dd7 and dd9. My dd7 has several conditions, including PDD, Mood Disorder and sensory issues. He will normally do some rides, but don't want to get into a position where we can't do anything because he won't do it.

Is there a service, such as a babysitting service, that would be capable of watching ds7, or even coming to the parks (providing I provide the ticket)

It's been a rough 9 months with multiple hospitalziations for him and we really need to get away, I just want to make it comfortable for him.

Kids Nite Out is the official babysitting service for WDW and does take care of special needs children. I think it depends on the needs of course but they suggest you call and ask them. They will also send someone to go with you to the parks - I would imagine you'd pay their park ticket plus the regular hourly rate.

Here is a website: http://www.kidsniteout.com/svcs_sitter.aspx

Kids Nite Out provided the babysitting for the Children With Diabetes Conference. I have called them about in-room sitting (not done it) and they told me they could send someone who has type 2 diabetes (my son is type 1) who knows how to do the finger poke checks. I didn't discuss it in more detail with them because we didn't do it but they didn't seem to find the request unusual.

Good luck!

Check with Fairy Godmothers at (407) 969-9847 and toll free 877-611-4314 They will come to the room. They will bring age-appropriate toys with them. If you have a child with special needs they will be able to provide a person with advanced training at no extra cost. Similarly, if you want someone who can take a child into a park they will send a person who has their own AP so there is no special fee.
