What attractions should be put out to pasture?

I am kinda glad that they don't have the skyway anymore... half the time it couldn't run because if that wind is more than like 15mph it had to be closed. Plus I have a lot of friends that got really hurt working that ride.

Let me see here...

That silly Alladin thing. (Dumbo is enuff there and it gets in the way)
The Tiki Room (it was better before Gilbert Godfried's voice killed it)
Winnie the Pooh
Stitch (didn't like it from the start)
Indiana Jones
Body Wars
Listen to the Land (If that's what it is still called)
Imagination (Try again...)
El Rio Del Tiempo (perhaps it just needs and update)

For me the obvious choices are those that are based on feature movies that haven't stood the test of time, or other pop culture things that are dated.

Great Movie Ride isn't a great ride to begin with, weak audioanimatronics, but the most embarassing is the ending montage with lots of Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures "classics" from the early 90s like Sister Act 2.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience.. weak movie compared to other 3-D movies in the World, based on a movie that was just okay and is certainly not destined for "classic" status. Buh-bye.

I think the Indiana Jones stunt show just needs an update... they've been doing the same thing for a long time. Same thing with Star Tours... I'd love to see an entirely new Star Wars ride here, maybe based more on elements from the prequel trilogy, Jedi training and so forth. Or Soarin' Over Coruscant?

I love the classics like POTC, IASW, Spaceship Earth. To me that is just classic Disney and to me feels much less dated than something staring Rick Moranis or Drew Carey.

Indy Jones should go.
The speedway is old.

And please, can they do something with the treehouse and jungle cruise. AK puts those to shame. Thats a lot of space for stuff.

Maybe Jungle Cruise should have Simba, Tarzan, etc. to make it different from AK's various exhibits.

Ok, I have to chime in again. I'm the OP, but after reading some of yours, I have to also agree that El Rio del Tiempo needs some serious help. I still love to ride it because it reminds me of ASW, and I like the part where the boats pass the restaurant, but honestly, how difficult can it be to find some more up-to-date footage that doesn't resemble horribly directed Red Hot Chili Peppers videos?

You cannot be saying that you want them to get rid of Aztec Dance Fever! That is the very essence of El Rio del Tiempo!

The cheesiness is the best thing about the ride. It’s amazing! I am filled with glee anytime I think of it. I can’t wait--can not wait—to ride it again! It won't be long now!!! Gleeeeeeeee!

I am still bitter about the Stitch thing, because it was one of my first attractions at MK and I just kept waiting for the ride to start. And it never did. There are safety harnesses, but there is no danger. Don't even get me started on the nasty burp smells. I have a little brother. I endured the burping for many, many years, and now I'm supposed to travel hundreds of miles and wait in line to get burped on at MK? I'm sure I could call my brother up and have him burp on me for free anytime.

I think some of the older rides like Peter Pan and Jungle Cruise should stick around, even if it’s only for sentimental reasons. Wasn’t the Disney Land Jungle Cruise the last attraction Walt personally helped design or something? I think I saw that on the Travel Channel or Modern Marvels. It’s kind of a glimpse into his dream and Disney history. It's classic Disney. That makes it worth keeping around.

I agree I think Jungle Cruise, Indy Sppedway, Indiana Jones and ( I am afraid to say it) the Tea Cups should go.

My vote goes to revamping adventureland.

Even Pirates needs an upgrade to the ride and an update as well.
As to the rest there wasn't an attraction over there I couldn't do without and even pirates, I'm afraid, was a disappointment. I'm just used to the pirates at Disneyland and this one seemed short and uninspired in comparison.

Oh yeh, one more, Tom Sawyer's Island and Haunted Mansion (It always gets stuck with me going backwards) LOL

Man, you are really looking to gain lots of friends here by calling for the destruction of the treehouse and the Jungle Cruise. What's next? Space Mountain? ARR does that much better too. (By the way, I half agree. Ax the treehouse, but the Jungle Cruise is a slice of Disney history and still funny)

Does anyone really care if they axe Jungle Cruise or at least change it. Its just not necessary as is. I say chuck it or change to disney characters instead of sort-of realistic looking animals.

Sounds Dangerous
Great Movie Ride
Indy stunt show
Tiki Birds
Stitch
Wonders of Life Pavilion

I agree a lot of the older classic Disney rides need revamping. I propose they update POTC with Jack Sparrow and Will Turner look alikes! I would be first on line for that! :rotfl:
