What attractions can 2 yr. olds do?

My son will be almost 2 when we go to DW and I would like suggestions on what we shouldn't miss, and what he will be able to participate in. Are there attractions he can sit on our laps for example?

Haven't been to DW is many years and not since becoming a mommy. I feel so out of the loop. These boards have been so helpful. Thank you all

Traci, We took our oldest DS when he was 2 and there was lots for him to ride! I don't care how many times you been there before...it's like a whole new world the first time you take your kids! I had tears rolling down my face the first time he set foot on Main Street and started dancing! I would suggest purchasing Birnbaum's for Kids by Kids . It has all the height requirements as well as attraction explanations as far as noise, scariness and such goes according to kids. Hope this helps! Have a great time!

He literally can go on everything that doesn't have a height requirement...as can your little one. The question is whether or not he will enjoy it. Will Haunted Mansion scare him too much? Will the 3D shows be too intense? Will he be bored with some of the stage shows? etc. He will probably love Playhouse Disney, most of the rides in Fantasyland, all of Toontown, Buzz Lightyear....

At the Magic Kingdom he could do most of the rides with you in Fantasyland...Dumbo, Peter Pan, Small World, Pooh, carousal. Mickey's Philharmoic (that may be spelled wrong) is a cute 3D show....my little one loved it! He may be too short for the mini rollar coaster in Toontown (35 inches), but there is Donald's Boat with water sprayers and a small play area also in Toontown and you can explore Mickey and Minnie's homes and meet them and other characters if you want. He can ride with you on Jungle Cruise, Pirates on the Caribbean, explore Swiss Family Robinson treehouse and Tom Sawyer's Island. There are probably a few more as well.

Are you going to other parks as well? If so, I can tell you what my dd enjoyed at those.

MK: Tomorrowland - Buzz, Indy speedway (if you don't mind the whiplash if you let drive ), TTA, astro orbiter is a bit fast I think for little kids
Toontown - Donald's boat, the little playground, probably too small for Goofy's Barnstormer
Fantasyland - everything here is good except maybe Snow White - that one's a little scary
Liberty Square - probably bored on Hall of Presidents, and HM is too scary, but he can ride the paddleboat
Tom Sawyer's Island - everything
Adventureland - Swiss Family tree, Jungle Cruise, POTC maybe, Alladin's Magic Carpet, Tiki Room

Epcot:
Future World: Mission Space has a great toddler play area in the exit area
Journey into Imagination is great for toddlers and the play section after the ride is fun
Living with the Land, Living Seas, Spaceship Earth

World Showcase: have him do masks, El Rio del Tiempo is fun

MGM: Great movie ride (except the Aliens segment), Playhouse Disney, Voyage of the little mermaid, backlot tour, lights motor action, fantasmic, beauty & the beast, indy jones stunt show, muppetvision

AK: Triceratops spin, Kilimanjaro Safari, he can go on Kali if he's 36inches or more, all the shows he can go on.

Just got back from my 2-yr-old DS's first trip. I was terrified that my shy boy would hate the crowded parks, "scary" characters, etc. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Magic Kingdom- Loved Dumbo, Mickey's Philharmagic (held on lap), Peter Pan, Pooh, Snow White, tea cups, Goofy's roller coaster, TTA, Buzz, Small World (really loved- did several times), Aladdin's carpets, Jungle Cruise, Indy cars. Was a little scared by Haunted Mansion and bored during Carousel of Progress. Somewhat nervous about Pirates. LOVED all of the characters.

Animal Kingdom- Loved safari, Triceratop Spin, animal trails, Boneyard, characters and "street performers."

Epcot- LOVED this park. Especially Living Seas, fountains, Living w/ the Land, Figment, "playground" after Figment ride, the ball, the princess lunch in Norway and much of the stuff in World Showcase (though he did take a long stroller nap during WS but liked doing Kidcot stops with DD4 when he was awake.)

Studios- Maybe he and DD4 were especially tired this day, but the only things they liked were Honey, I Shrunk... Playground and meeting the characters. They HATED the Great Movie Ride, didn't especially like Little Mermaid or Playhouse Disney. We left early because WE got bored with the playground and the kids did NOT want to do any more shows. A little disappointing for mom and dad- especially since I thought this would be their 2nd favorite park.

Overall, he had a wonderful trip and even slept well and ate well! We returned to the resort for a nap each day. That was probably the smartest thing we did. Oh his other favorite thing was riding the resort buses. He loved the buses. Whatever
