What attractions are your kids afraid of at MK?

DD4 was terrified and I mean terrified of Stitch's Great Escape, and he is her absolute favorite character ever. It made her skeptical of every inside ride after that, we never got to do peter pan or pooh because she was convinced it was going to be like stitch ride.

This wasn't even because of the dark because DD is not aftraid of the dark at all.

DD 8 is scared of Splash Mountain because of the drop. The last time we went, she agreed to go, but only if she could put her head in my lap for the drop (I have to admit, that I'm a bit scared of this myself, but I love the rest of the ride SO much). DD 10 is scared of the Rock n' Roller Coaster, but DD 8 has no problems with that, even though it goes upside down. Go figure. We can't even go NEAR the Tower of Terror. Also, I cover DD 8's eyes during the part of the Great Movie Ride that is devoted to "Alien." Too much!

Whoops! Just noticed that this thread is devoted to rides at the MK. I guess I digressed!!!

My DD, then 3, was scared of HM...not the expanding room, not the lightning or the music...just the heads popping out at her. She says she wants to go back again. Oddly enough, she was not at all scared of Snow White, even though she hides her eyes every time the queen comes on the screen during the movie. Go figure. However, the biggest surprise was that, even though she is such a little girl (loves dolls, stuffed animals, wears pink every day), she didn't like It's A Small World.

The only one my daughter won't ride is ToT. Son likes them all so far but he isn't tall enough for ToT yet. Muahaha. :teeth:

When our DS was almost 7, the first ride we went on was the Pooh one, thinking it'd be fun for DD who was 4. Well, my son and husband both HATED it so much they say they'll never go on it again. They hated how jerky and bouncy it was, and DS was terrified of the heffalumps nightmare. I must admit it wasn't as sweet as it could have been for being Pooh bear. DS also FREAKED out at Mickey's Philharmagic and I had to take him out. Poor kid! He does have some sensory issues, and in general, WDW is NOT a place for people with sensory issues, although we found plenty he loved, too. :earseek:

None. DS is not afraid of any ride, even when he was under 5.

Nobody scares the stuffing out of kids like Disney. I have been 3x with DS now 4 and DD now 2. My DS was fearless at 2 1/2 and told me "don't worry mommy - they are happy pirates"....but Small World freaked him out. Next trip I was the mom dragging my screaming 3 year old through the theater in Mickey's Philharmagic. He didn't like Voyage of the Little Mermaid the day before (Ursula is huge) so the 3D effects of Philharmagic just terrified him. Last trip in May. My little guy got up the courage to face down its a Small World and loved it. I learned from these boards that they may change what they are afraid of day to day or hour to hour. Being tired etc seems to make it worse. Disney can be a scary place. Let them "tell" you what they want to do. (PS DD 2 has been on everything and is always game for any ride. Last trip she would cover her eyes whenever she didn't like something..it was a riot to watch. We'll see how she does in February.)

DD is afraid of just about everything. She is so scared of going high, fast, or basically anything that I think is fun :guilty: :confused3 . DS is not really scared of anything that I have found yet. He didn't really enjoy Alien Encounter but everything else has been fine for him.

My 5 yr old DS went on SM in Dec. but did not dee the drop as we approaced the ride, when we went back in May he did see the drop and was terrified (he said for months how much he loved the ride). He kept insisting that they had changed the ride. We had to stop and ask a CM to explain that it had not changed. Finally went on and felt better. He is much more afraid of things now then 2 yrs ago. HATED Stich but then so did I. He also did not like Bugs Life at Ak

My 9 year old last summer had every excuse in the world to not ride Haunted Mansion. Now granted we tricked him and took him at night, it looked much spookier. He was hungry, tired, wanted to go to bed, his legs hurt. We knew he would love it if he rode it, so we went anyway. Big suprise, it's one of his favorite rides!

36 hours until we leave for the world!~

When my sister was little about 3 or 4 she was terrified of the HM and kept saying she didn't want to go in the haunted house. So my mom said "Oh, we're not going in the haunted house, this is the haunted MANSION." And my sister was very relieved to hear that and went on the ride and wasn't scared at all. Go figure. :rotfl2:

DD is not afraid of anything! She gets upset cause she is too short to ride Splash Mountain and BTMRR. She will be 3 in Oct so she doesn't understand why she can't go on certain rides. We bought one of the Disney CD's and one of the songs is the haunted mansion. That's her favorite, it's funny to hear her say "hurry back, hurry back, be sure to bring your death certificate" :rotfl:
