As we're preparing for our upcoming trip (2 weeks!!!), I got to thinking about attractions and shows that are no longer at WDW which we enjoyed and miss now that they are gone. My favorites:

Tapestry of Nations
The Hunchback of Notre Dame stage show
Horizons
If I Had Wings
The OLD Journey into Imagination

I'm sure people will mention many more!

If You Had Wings & Horizons...and not an attraction, but I really miss the Main Street Electrical Parade. I can't wait to see it at DCA in a few weeks, but miss seeing it on Main Street.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!! We went the week before it closed, and Winnie the Pooh just doesn't match up for us. Remind me what "If I had Wings" was.

"If You Had Wings" was situated in ths same space where "Buzz Lightyear's SR Spin" is NOW.

It was sponsored by the "official airline of WDW" (when they had one).

I think the first one was Eastern ("The Wings of Man"), followed by Delta.

The rooms now a part of Buzz... where the shafts of light ROTATE in the "fog" and the long blimp-shaped room with the "stars" and Zurg's ship projected on the walls... were both featured in the former "wings" versions of the ride.

I miss..
If I Had Wings
Mr. Toads Wild Ride
The Old Journey into Imagination
Tarzan Rocks

Was Tapestry of Nations in Epcot? If it's what I'm remebering it was an indoor building and featured a lot of different countries.

"Tapestry of Nations" was a PARADE (3 simultaneous parades, actually) with the TALL "PUPPETS" that was given (sometimes several times a day/night) around the WS lagoon.

That big pavillion you're talking about that had wares from various world nations (during the Millennium Celebration) was called the "Millennium Village".

That pavillion is still there, BTW, but its not open for anything for the public at this time.

All these rides to me scream Disney and bring back sooo much nostalgia. I think all of those rides were timeless and could have lasted much longer.

Tarzan Rocks!!

I know a good number of people out there didn't like that show, but we loved it. I'm so disappointed they stopped that one.

Thanks for setting me straight Robo :thumbsup2

While I haven't been to WDW nearly as many times as most of you there are still attractions I miss from my first time there at the age of 12 in 1981. I loved the Tiki Room then. At the time, it was the most exotic thing I had ever seen. :rotfl2: That memory still stands out in my mind. I also thought Mission To Mars and Mr. Toad's Wild ride were awesome. I think that some memories from childhood are so priceless that anything that disturbs that memory is suspect. I still like the Tiki Room a lot, but it just isn't the same. :sad2:

Skyway is what I miss most also, at least as far as attractions. I also miss-

The flowered area in front of Spaceship Earth, now a horrible graveyard-type area
River country
the original Discovery Island
the Osborne Lights in their former location
Future Corps
Lafitte's portrait gallery, the place where your child could dress up like a pirate and have his picture taken
WDW forever CD kiosks
"Coach's corner", in Wonders of Life
Timekeeper
riding the double decker bus in WS
