I am just curious of a good location/town to live in. I don't know much about NC. How are the schools, do you like living there?

We were looking into SC to move to, but then we started thinking about NC. We would want to be closer to the beach.

Any info would be appreciated - Thanks

Look at Cary, NC! Research triangle area!

From the looks of my town half of jersey must have left in the last few years and they all choose NC? :confused3

If you can afford it, I suggest Chapel Hill. Good schools, college town atmosphere, high property taxes.

Thanks for the info. What is considered high property taxes. Our property taxes are high in NJ.

we live in Union Co right outside of Charlotte. It's great here-we get all the perks of the big city but still have the feel of a small town. Plus the taxes are way lower than Mecklenburg Co. but shhh it's a secret and we don't want everyone to know ;)

Lots of choices when it comes to great towns in NC. Since being close to the water is a priority I would recommend something different. Go for the small-town feel of a place like Bath, NC. I think that section of our state is a hidden treasure.

Our DD's MIL/FIL live in Calabash, NC, just north of Myrtle Beach, and they love it. They keep trying to get us to come down to visit them in hopes we will retire there some day. They were originally from the Lehigh Valley, PA, just as we are.
