What plans to you have for Valentines day?

What are you getting your loved one?

I am planning spaghetti/meatballs, bruschetta, caprese salad and a glass of wine. ghirardelli chocolates.

I got DH a sweatshirt.

Staying home.

I am making a nice wine pot roast, french onion mashed potatoes and salad.

Oreo cheesecake for dessert.

We are each writing each other a love letter.

Cute thread! We are watching our pennies right now, so I got DH and I chocolate from Christmas clearance for $1 each. I think kids are getting M&Ms and cards I made for free last year. Now, the rest depends on snow... We are supposed to get a lot again. I have 1/2 off coupons for a local frozen yogurt place and we were thinking Chinese take-out for dinner, but we shall see how that all pans out.

I also have the kids' Easter baskets just about wrapped up thanks to the Target toy clearance. :thumbsup2

DH and I are in Super Saver mode so no gifts but we really aren't "gift people" anyway.

Shrimp pasta, salad, bread, chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. A bottle of our favorite champagne. Then a fire and a movie at home.

I did get DD17 a gift as she is very much a "gift person.":)

The sweatshirt is an Cleveland Indians sweatshirt that I got a discounted store for $11.00

Traditionally for us, Valentine's Day means a sushi dinner, but since it's a Friday night and every restaurant will be packed, we're staying in. I'm surprising DH with his favorite meal - seafood crepes. I only make them once, maybe twice, a year because it's a big pain and very messy. But, he's worth it, and he really enjoys them. I have a bottle of prosecco left over from New Year's, too. I might even light some candles ;)

Most years he gets me flowers, but he's been so super stressed with work that I doubt he'll remember (and I've been too busy with school to gently remind him). Last year he got me earrings but I'm not expecting anything that extravagant this year. On Saturday we have tickets to a show and we plan to still do sushi on Sunday, so Valentine's will last the weekend!

We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day anymore. We hate going out with the huge crowds so we always stay in which means it's 'just another day' where I make dinner like every other night! LOL

We've never given gifts on V-Day...I used to get flowers but not anymore. My husband surprises me throughout the year with orchid plants instead and I like that much more! :) We are also eating very healthy so we can't really do chocolates or desserts...or delicious fattening foods!

If we had kids we would do fun and cute things for them, though.

DH is taking the day off (the kids are out of school), and we are heading back home to Indiana for my niece and nephew's birthday party (on Saturday). We don't do gifts, and we will likely have McDonald's in the car on our way down. We don't make a big deal about Valentine's Day. It's just another day for us. Though, I do plan the kids' school parties every year, so we always do stuff for them for V-Day. I detest flowers (huge waste of money, IMHO), and when one of us wants a box of chocolates, we just buy it. No specified date required. :rotfl:

Valentine's Day will mark 22 years with DH. You would think that we would have something romantic planned, but no. I am taking my son to Disney World for a gymnastics meet. DH and my other son will fly up Saturday night and we will go to Universal Sunday-Tuesday.

It's our first married Valentine's Day, so I'm going a little crazier than usual. I'm taking him to a decent restaurant (Olive Garden-level) and my gift to him is that I'll be wearing a new, cute dress (I rarely wear dresses and he keeps hinting that he wants me to).

I'm not expecting anything this year. He went over the top last year (proposed a few days before V-day), and I think it's just slipped his mind with work stress. But I wouldn't say no to flowers!

My wife once again has said she wants no card, no flowers, no gift. We're in the middle of a remodel and have lived in our house 31 years and have finally discovered, we don't need, or have room for anything more. We do need to make a dump run though.

We're going to wait and go out the next night since the restaurants we'd be interested in are doing set menu's on valentines. For us, its really just an excuse to splurge at our favourite restaurant. He is trying his hand at making raspberry truffles at home tonight, and I will get him his favourite chocolates from Moonstruck. ;)

We are taking the kids out for pizza. We are in savings mode so no gifts except some dark chocolate for the kids.

DBF and I will be driving to Disneyland all morning and then dinner at Cafe Orleans with my aunt and momma. We decided no on the gifts this year even though I guess Disney is a gift! And our meal is paid for with gift cards I got for Christmas so, yay to a free meal too!

I did get this really cute book about dinosaurs in love from Amazon last month for $5 that I was going to color in for him, but I think I'll save it for our anniversary next month.

DH and myself have never really been big Valentine's Day people. We do sometimes give each other chocolate, but not every year. We do, however, always make sure to give our kids (who are now grown) and the grandkids something small. I usually spend very little.

This year, we will be spending Valentine's Day with our 14 month old DGS. I think that sounds like the best Valentine's Day plan to me. Can't think of a better way to spend our time! :yay:

He got me my favorite chocolates. We will be having dinner in France, in World Showcase that is (CS, the budget minded fool I am, lol ). I might spring for two glasses of champagne!princess:

:rotfl: Nothing says romance like a dump run :rotfl:

Sounds like DH and I, we don't usually do anything either, sometimes I get him some candy or girl scout cookies if he's deployed. This year I'm getting him a gift card for an online game he plays because he's getting ready to go to a military school and it will be something for him to do in his spare time. That'll be about $20. I got some candy for the kids, just their favorite candy bar, nothing fancy.

For the first year that I can remember, we are going out on Valentine's Day! That includes the years we were dating, we may have went out for dinner, but I really don't remember. Also for the first time that I can remember, my husband is planning the whole thing! He asked me to get a babysitter, and that's it! We have been together almost 14 years, we definitely haven't done anything the last 10 years, so this is a big deal:). We usually stay at home and I cook dinner, or one of us would be working as we worked opposite shifts until I was able to stay home, and Valentine's was not worth using a vacation day.
I got him a sweatshirt and a hat, I don't expect him to get me anything, he really has no time. I do hope he realizes how horribly busy everything will be on Friday, it could be ugly. Lol.
