Oh wow, this is really hard. Sorry but I find it absolutely impossible to narrow a list to a top 10. But rock 'n roll's about breaking the rules, right? So in the spirit of punk, I'm breakin' the rules! These would just be the ones that I can think of off the top of my head:

1. Pictures of You - The Cure
2. Back On The Chain Gang - The Pretenders
3. Alex Chilton - The Replacements
4. Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who
5. This Is A Low - Blur
6. Slide Away - Oasis
7. Let's Stay Together - Al Green
8. Bitter Sweet Symphony - Verve
9. The Campaign For Real Rock - Edwyn Collins
10. Surf's Up - The Beach Boys
11. You Can't Always Get What You Want - The Rolling Stones
12. Promenade - U2
13. The Winner Takes It All - Abba
14. Teardrop - Massive Attack
15. Sara - Fleetwood Mac
16. Silver Springs (the original, not the awful live version from '97) - Fleetwood Mac
17. On A Bus To St. Cloud - Trisha Yearwood
18. Regret - New Order
19. Distant Sun - Crowded House
20. This Guy's In Love With You - Herb Alpert
21. Common People - Pulp
22. Half A Person - The Smiths
23. Magic Man - Heart
24. Cruel To Be Kind - Nick Lowe
25. If You See Her, Say Hello - Bob Dylan

27. Come On Eileen - Dexy's Midnight Runners

6) Pearl Jam-Yellow Ledbetter

OK, I had to add a few extra

13) Bob Dylan-Blowin in the Wind
14) The Tragically Hip-Wheat Kings
15) The Ramones-I Wanna Be Sedated
