What Are Your Top "Can't Forget To Pack" Items?

Imodium AD - never use it, but glad to know I have it just in case! Can't waste time dealing with stomach problems!

Here are some things that we always bring as we found out in the pass we forgot:

sunscreen
extra pair of shoes (in case one pair gets soaked on a ride)
extra film
photo copy of your tickets in case you loose them

Where are you staying????

In December the thing I wish I'd had most was a thermometer. (for people..not weather!)

AND we found 2 Gallon Zip Lock bags to be a wonderful tip we learned here! Useful for many, many things!

extra shoes and or sandals...
It rained while we were there and we were not prepared with enough foot ware and so we ended up buying shoes for two of our DD's !

Anne

1. Definitely extra shoes, even for the adults. It's a good idea to switch shoes anyway during the trip to avoid blisters. We usually switch midday when we take a break.

2. Ziplocs in gallon and baggie size. Great for keeping things dry, or storing wet things.

3. Medicines. We have a little pack of advil, tylenol, kids versions of those things, neosporin and bandaids, benedryl and benedryl cream. The bag isn't that big, and who wants to buy a $9 bottle of advil when you just need 2.

4. Unlined raincoats. I don't like ponchos because we use a backpack to carry things around and it's hard to use with the poncho.

5. Backpack. I like my hands free to take pictures or hold my kids' hands. When you go on a ride, just lay the backpack on the floor and put your feet through the straps to hold it in place. And if you use a plain looking backpack, put something "memorable" on it in case you leave it somewhere--it will be easier to spot.

Lip sunscreen. Sunburned lips hurt more than anything.

Meds and money:D Also some music and magazines for the flights:earsboy:

Dr. Scholl's Gel Inserts for your walking shoes! You can't buy these anywhere on property.

i found 2 1/2 gal ziplock bags at my local grocery store they were about 4 bucks for 10 but heck its alot easier then trying to stuff alot in small bags i did see 2 gal sizes at walmart the other day but my grocery store is the only place i saw 2 1/2 gal size

We always pack clothes pins, binoculars (for AK), and rain ponchos. :)

Tinkie, you are so excited you don't know what to do with yourself!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :teeth:

Some of these are a little strange, but then so am I. :)

Ziplocks are good. I'm going to try and find the 2 gallon size--never seen then, but have never looked.

Tampons--I know that I'm going to need them at the end of my trip. I suppose better than NOT needing them. :teeth:

Migraine meds--hopefully you don't need that, but I sure do :(

Bubble bath for my son so he can soak in the evening and maybe relax him so he'll go to sleep quickly

Pedometer so I can see how many steps I've taken

1 qt Igloo insulated container for water. I fill with ice and bottled water in the morning and bring extra bottled water to refill later. I don't like the tap water, but the melting ice doesn't dilute the water down much and I don't mind the taste. I do like cold water, though, so don't like to just bring bottled water into the park--it warms up too quickly unless I bring it in a cooler bag.

Coffee Pot, fillters and coffee packets. Don't ask... :teeth:

Green ribbon, of course

T&B--I had a cup of coffee and the caffeine just kicked in!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Foot powder, extra socks and ziplock bags. Put foot powder in an extra pair of socks and put the socks in a ziplock bag. Do this in the morning before you leave for the park. Stuff the bag in your fannypack or backpack. Mid day when your feet are tired and sore change socks. You'll be surprised how soothing this can be for your feet and it will help to keep you going longer. :wave2:

Ear plugs! Just in case you want to take a nap when there's a party in the room next door.

An insulated (on a strap) water bottle carrier.

Extra batteries for cameras

Cel phone charger (hotel calls are soooo expensive!)

A wine corkscrew (always stop at Publix on our way to the hotel)

:sunny: Ana in DC where more bad weather is expected. :(

Your LICENSE. Can't board the plane without it. Whatever you do, don't forget your license.

Not really a pack item but an unpack one - I usually carry a small pocketknife in my purse and I'm always terrified I'll forget to take it out before we get to the airport - I don't need to give anyone any reasons to search me.

To pack - any and all allergy & asthma meds for my son. He's never needed any "rescue" drugs yet but let's knock on wood.
