What are your Top 3 DVC Resorts? NOW WITH OVERALL RANKS - SEE OP

Boardwalk

Animal Kingdom - Jambo

Hilton head

Honorable mention - VWL (we've only stayed at WL)

I like VWL - I think it has the best theming and the best quiet pool. We own BWV and its home - its were the vast majority of our trips have been. The only other one we've stayed at in twelve years has been BCV and I wouldn't book it again. We are staying at HHI starting next week and I think probably VAKL in two years.[/QUOTE

You will love Hilton Head! Make sure to spend a day in Savannah!

1) Aulani, spectacular, a little slice of heaven on earth, loved every thing about it

2) VGC, love the theming and decor, walking out right into DCA is amazing.

3) Tie VWL/BC/AKL , we rotate between these ones. Love the pools, overall feel/ambiance/decor/theming is amazing. BC and VWL are cozy. Boat ride to MK and walking to 2 parks amazing.

We love all the DVC resorts but these three are our favorites and our "home" resorts:

#1 OKW--love the large rooms, parking right outside the villa, low points, theming makes you feel like you are in the Keys, relaxing, tropical, close to the parks but still feels away from it all...

#2 HHI--love this beach resort, family atmosphere, tons to do, beautiful location, views of the marsh, proximity to great restaurants, beach house...

#3 VGF--beautiful resort, large rooms with great layout, fabulous pool next to the beach area, monorail is super convenient, the GF is breathtaking and the location and atmosphere put you right in the middle of the magic

We also love SSR for the pools and walk to DTD. BWV is really fun with a great theme and fantastic location. VWL is really beautiful and we enjoyed the theming, but not so wowed as we live in a wooded area on a lake and it just didn't feel as magical to us as the others. I thought AKV was really cool but DH wasn't a fan of the dark rooms, long hallways or drum music. Haven't stayed at BLT, BCV, VB, VGC or Aulani yet but hope to eventually try them all.

I like reading everyone's favorites and why, this is a great thread!

On the list - its a Girl Scout trip, so we NEED to go to Savannah. Its teenage girls - they head to high school next year.

I have a feeling that I will really like it and be hauling the boys down.

I have decided to look at which resorts are the most popular overall on this thread.

See OP for the results so far!

1. We own at BLT and really love it! It's great to be able to walk to MK. We enjoy taking the boat to FW. Also huge fans of the monorail. Love that we can use the CR pools in addition to our own. Fun Community Hall. I like the extra bathroom & sleeper chair. We enjoy spending time at CR.

2. We stayed at BCV and enjoyed it a lot. Nice walk to Epcot & boat to Studios. SAB is fantastic! Lots to see/do while walking around the boardwalk area.

These are the only two I've stayed at.

Kidani Village
SSR
HHI

Quiet, big rooms, nice pools. Great Staff.

Stayed at all except Grand Californian.

1. SSR best resort, one that could be stand alone without the 4 major parks. Great variety, wonderful pools, easy stroll to DTD, golf course, Disney but not too much, relaxing, quiet and just awesome.
2. BWV low points and location to EPCOT and HS plus the boardwalk area is nice
3. BCV - location only, pool is laid out in a ridiculous fashion and the sand is cool the first few times but very annoying after the novelty wears off.

Would love to pick up SSR and set it next to EPCOT that would be amazing

1. Aulani - location, views, pools, beach, kids favorite place to have fun all day and night
2. Grand Californian - location, pool, kids loves Disneyland
3. Tie between Animal Kingdom and Bay Lake Tower - location, pools, kids loves Walt Disney World

We own at BCV and AKV; we have stayed at: BCV, AKV (Jambo and Kidani), BWV, Aulani, SSR and BLT. Our top three would be:

1) BCV - by far our favorite resort. Great location, love the pools and overall
Decor.

2) AKV (Jambo)- You won't find a better themed resort then AKV. We prefer Jambo simply because it has a large quick service dining area and more amenities right there.

3) Aulani - not practical to own unless you plan to visit there often ( we will be making our second trip there TOMORROW!!) you can get in at the 7 month mark even during the busy season if you make sure your calling right at 7 months. An unbelievable resort that must be experienced to be appreciated.

We own at AKV, BWV, and VWL. They are by far our favorite resorts.

1. AKV- I am here right now in a value studio overlooking the pool. I love everything about this resort. I could live here.

2. BWV- Close to Epcot, love the dining options within walking distance.

3. VWL- great homey feel, beautiful at Christmas.

1. OKW - our home resort. We love the laid back and not crowded feel of the place. Easy to get around and cheaper than the other resorts to stay at.

2. WLV - like the entire resort theme and the way it is laid out.

3. BLT - location, location location to so many things important to us....smjj

Our favorites are:

1. BLT...it's not only home for us, but the contemporary was our favorite resort since the 70's! Live the look and feel, the decor, the views, the easy walk to MK, and the monorail!

2. AKV...easily our second favorite. So much to see and do, doesn't even feel like you're in Florida anymore.

3. BCV...two words: Stormalong Bay!

We are looking forward to trying all the other DVC resorts, with the notable exception of BWV which we HATED.

We have stayed at all Disney World DVC's except BLT. We normally stay in studios, have done 2BR at BWV twice when travelling with friends.

1. BWV: love theming, location--the Boardwalk itself with the entertainment as well as the easy walks to Epcot and HS, the community hall, and yes--I even like the clown pool with the Coaster themed waterslide!

2. VGF: stayed here this past Feb. Loved the luxury of it. DD10 loved the murphy bed under the TV. Enjoyed access to monorail/boat. Easy walk to both GF and Poly to visit restaurants. Near the theme pool and bar/snacks.

3. TIE:rotfl2:: AKV--Kidani and VWL:
AKV--Kidani--savannah view--love having a glass of wine with DH while kids are sleeping and watching animals at night. Love the cultural activities and community hall. Liked the kids water play area and pool...just wish the pool bar had been open when we visited! We had no issues with the long hallways...I'd rather walk inside for a long distance than outside like SSR and OKW--much better during a rainy trip!

VWL--theming--reminded us of our trip to Yellowstone. Loved the quiet pool, boat transportation, beach area, watching the Electric Water Parade. Vacation here felt very relaxing.

Oh, Oh-#1 is BWV! Where's Richyams when you need him? But I suppose it makes sense that BWV is #1-as he used to say, the glass is very clear; and you can clean the whole villa with only one paper towel.
Our votes-How many votes for HHI as #1 are we allowed?
OKW is #2 (but note-it's definitely our #1 at WDW)
BCV is our #3 (even without considering SAB).

#1 VWL - Overall beauty & size of the resort.

#2 VWL - Serenity - feeling that away from everything like being up in the Mountains. Love the walking trails to Fort Wilderness & being on the lake.

#3 BWV - Love the location being so close to Epcot & DHS.

DVC resorts I have not stayed at yet are VGF, HH, SSR, & Aulani.
