Are there any must have tips for DTD? My son is 3 and we are wondering what we should definitely do. Or maybe it would just be best to walk the strip and see for ourselves??

My only tip would be to go in the morning! While everyone else is at the parks, you will actually be able to look around. It gets crazy mid-day with all the people, during the peak seasons anyway.

It is a good place to go for some down time. You can go to the Lego store and play with Legos for hours if your child wants to. We always went at night but the mornings/afternoon are less crowede. If you go to the World of Disney store hold onto your child because if you separate you will never find each other. My family also makes Ghiradelli's Ice Cream a must stop (they have an 8 scoop sundae they love). The T-Rex Restaurant is good. It is like Rainfores Cafe but dinasaurs and better food. They have a Build-a-dino store "inside too. There is a McDonald's in DTD in case your 3 yo "needs" it.:rotfl:

I totally agree -- morning is the only time to go especially if you want "downtime." The rest of the time its loud, crazy, long lines, shoulder to shoulder people.

Yes, go early and if you want some "Mom Time" go to Basin and have some fun with their stuff:thumbsup2

your 3 yr old might enjoy the kids train ride which is near the Pin Station store area. It costs for them to ride - I think it was $1

This is one of my favorite places to visit. Even if we plan a trip to Fl.without going to Disney(heaven forbid),we always find time to go to DTD. I get the feel of Disney without actually going to the parks.

The shops are fun to poke through and we enjoy having lunch at one of the many restaurants. We LOVE "the Earl of Sandwich" or just sitting on the lake and "people watch".It's a relaxing part of a visit to WDW.:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Go during the day (morning is best) There is a water spray area that my 3 year old didn't want to leave. I brought extra clothes and let him get drenched. He had a ball. There is a carousel and train ride, $2 each. Make sure you have cash, you put the money in this thing that exchanges it for tokens. My son loved looking at toys in the stores. I told him he could pick one thing, it was really the only time I got him a souvenier. When we are at the parks, we don't do the shops.
