I am not going and was never planning to go, as this is a busy time of year for me... But I have been asked what I thought and to be honest I am not surprised. The same team runs all Disney Pin events or Merchandise Events. And that is the Disney Special Events team.

I have leaned one thing from the past Disney events I have attended and those I have not. It is the definition if insanity….

It is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Not that they don’t try and make the results different… But till they stop doing the same pre planning and execution of that plan then we should not expect different results.

Now that being said... Leslie you must have seen a few things on the rsp you want.... I saw all the Beauty and the Beast stuff...

Nat, I have never been to a pin event, but how does one get info on when and where Disney is having them? Do they have a pin event website? Thanks. And can you order pins from these if you can't actually attend?

Martha,

I usually find out about the pin events on dizpins.com. You can also look at the official Disney pinsite: http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservices/index.html. You are not supposed to be able to acquire the event pins unless you attend the event, but sometimes Disney sells pins after the fact. Sometimes pins are labelled as "event exclusive", but that might not necessarliy be so...

I am not attending the "This is Love" event, but if I were, I think I'd be pretty angry about the changes. $125 for a chicken buffet at Cosmic Ray's?? What's so special about that? And yes , I realize there will be a gift etc, but if you compare to the standard Disney Event Services set with the original AK event (which I also did not attend), the current changes feel like a real slap in the face.

Nat, I am hoping to procure the royal crown box ::yes::, resplendent in Beauty and the Beast pins!! And I would love the castle frame set (actually, this is the first framed set from a pin event that I have wanted)!

One interesting point was raised. On the official site none of the pins or merchandise are marked "event exclusive"
This could be an oversite or when the event is done leftovers could go to public.
I really hope this event turns out to be the BEST of the year..

A "Frequently Asked Question" section that addresses many of the concerns. It appears that the event IS going to follow most of the original planning so those who are going, take a deep breath and start looking forward to your event again.

I suspect what happened is that someone threw together a brief itinerary to send out with the RSPs and figured that most folks would look at the Official Site for the details. In all fairness to Event Services, the description of a "quest" was never removed from the official description. I think it's great that Event Services responded so quickly to address the concern being shown the last couple of days. If anyone from Event Services is reading this board, thank you for clarifying things so promptly.
