What are Your Thoughts on Nemo Show at AK.

It is the best show on WDW property. Maybe even the best stage show I have ever seen. A must do on our trips.

I really like the costumes and can't stand the music. It sounds like a child wrote it. I think they wrote Avenue Q too and I don't like that music either. It is worth seeing for the costumes but you have to line up early. I too felt it really dragging. I don't like when they re-tell the same story. Mix it up-like the Festival of the Lion King.

We LOVED "Nemo". My kids were 6 and 3 at the time and were enthralled the enitre time. The puppetry is spectacular. We actually made a special trip back to AK on our last day because we missed the show the first day. I'm so glad that we did because it was one of our favorite parts of the trip.

I love this show. It is a must see. However, you do not need to wait in line forever. I have watched the show in the front and the back of the theater and have enjoyed both. Hop in line 15 minutes before the show is to start - you should be fine.

B-O-R-I-N-G!!! We really didn't like it at ALL. While the costumes were nicely done, it was just too drawn out and the singing got under your skin after awhile.

We saw this show RIGHT after it opened back in 2006. The show itself I thought
was adorable. We did end up with horrible seats. There is bleacher type seating
both down and up as you enter. We got the first row in the upper section. Way
to far and we were looking through the heads of the people on the top row of
the lower section. I was very disappointed. This was not the fault of the show.
Just poor timing. When I return in a few weeks, solo, I plan on getting
better seats. I am looking forward to it.

I think if someone had sung "just keep swimming" one more time I would have needed therapy.

We love this show! :lovestruc I'm really big on Broadway productions, and this is just like it with everything being so elaborate, and although it's just a retelling of the movie, the songs are GREAT!

I find myself studying the actors as much as the puppetry; they are so talented and I think it's kind of fun that way. Like somebody said, definitely sit toward the back for a better view though. You will definitely get everything then if you decide to go. Last year, we were in the 5th row or so and we had to keep turning back around to get everything.

Thanks for the replies!

I think we will plan to hit this last thing on our AK day, if we get to it; good, if not; oh well.

It sounds OK, but don't know if I want to line up 30 min early for a 40 min show seems like a huge chunk of time.

We've done Pocahontas, it was cute, but don't feel that we need to do it again.

We've done Flights of Wonder it was Very Good, but we don't feel that we need to see it again.

We've done Lion King, and it was awesome, this is a must see for us each visit.

We did Tazan and thought it was entertaining enough to see again on a following trip, but only because the show was starting in 5 min and we were there. If we would have had to wait or make a return trip, we probably would have skipped it.

I think Disney does most things well, there are very few things at Disney that IMHO are not worth seeing. 1. Swiss Family Treehouse 2. Snow White's Scary Adventures. Everything else is entertaining even if mildly so. So I'm interested to see how I feel about the Nemo show.

For those of you who really dislike it, what are some other attractions that you really dislike? I would like a basis for comparison.

I've seen it once but I wouldn't rush back. Don't get me wrong I try and do everything a least once each trip but this I could take it or leave it.

However, AK is known for being exetreamly hot! so mid-day show might be good to cool you down in the summer sun?

The songs are a little annoying, and considering I'm usually a great lover of anything that has anything to do with a musical this did dissappoint me.

Saying that the puppeteers work their butts off and the idea is very clever. Just don't expect it to hit broadway anytime soon :thumbsup2

I must admit I do not like this show. I thought it was way too long to hold kids attention and I found myself yawning and dreaming of it being over.

I also found myself getting a little sleepy during the show.

I merely *liked* the show, but have no need to see it aain. Seeing the actors was a major distraction for me, also.

By comparison, the Lion King show is a must-see for me.

My opinion might be different than others because I am in my 50's, no children, and I travel solo.

This is, by far, my favorite show on Disney property.

It wouldn't bother me to see it multiple times in one trip.

My strong Disney dislikes in no particular order are Astro Orbiter, Snow White, Swiss Family, and the new Tiki Room. Over at Universal it's Shrek 4-D and Twister.

My earlier comments aside, I think you should see Finding Nemo at least once. (I plan to take my guests unless they don't want to go.) You might love it, you might hate it, you might wish you had the time to spend elsewhere, but at least you'd know what you were missing.

I think that I've just become used to seeing WDW shows that were effectively test runs for Broadway. As Katy says, this one just doesn't reach the same level. The costume design and performers were great, though. I liked having the visible puppeteers, but then I tend to enjoy metafiction and metatheatre.

Sounds like we have similar tastes! I didn't mention Astro Orbiter earlier but yeah that ride is horrible, it's like Dumbo on roids with a little crank thrown in.

I think we will try to fit it in, but only after we have experiened everything else on our list.

We saw it for the first time last Monday and I thought it was incredible. The puppets were so beautiful and I didn't even notice the actors that much. Two thumps up!

LOVED IT! Except for the part at the end where everybody in the lower level seats felt it necessary to stand up and run for the door before it even opened so that they could be the first ones out and thus blocked our view of the end of the last scene and the final curtain call from where we were sitting in handicapped seats. If I had to guess, those that ran to the door before it was over were probably those that didn't enjoy it, just didn't get it, or have never been to Broadway show, opera, or any other performance that doesn't involve stadium vendors slinging peanuts and beer. But I digress...

The actors are all top-notch, Broadway caliber performers. I guess if you don't like live theater, it's not for you. But then again the title is "Finding Nemo - The Musical" so one might expect there will be a fair amount of singing in it, no? Seeing the puppeteers with the puppets is the whole genius of the show. Not only are the actors controlling the puppets, but they're acting out the roles along with the puppets, imparting extra emotion to the story that you just can't get with a puppet alone. So yeah, I really liked it and can't wait to see again. But then again I have a musical performance background, so I'm naturally drawn to stuff like this. Your mileage may vary.

I agree! And I HATE the people who run for the doors! Geez, wait the two minutes for the curtain call and give the actors some respect. I had to add, the fact that the lips on the puppets move to match the words they are saying amazes me! Their eyes blink too, and are very expressive.
