What are your plans for your home in 2023?

planned? new stove/oven, graveling, minor electrical stuff (whole house surge protector included :thumbsup2 )

unplanned-new dishwasher b/c the only way the stove we wanted is currently sold is as a bundled deal, hot tub repairs t.b.d. (board got fried just as temps dropped below zero so technician thinks despite his/our best efforts with a heater inside the thing we busted some piping but gotta wait till may or so to pull it apart).

All of the trim is in need of repainting. I'm in the mindset to hire someone just to GET IT DONE!
Currently the color is deep hunter green. ( for 25+ yrs) I told my husband I'd like dark barn red or black.

Clean out the garage, and my uncle's workroom in the back of the basement, paint the living room and dining room.

Hoping not to have to do anything for many many more years.
New HVAC in 2021
New Water Heater in 2020
New roof in 2014
Top to bottom remodel 2013-14
Exterior paint done in 2015.
Solar installed in 2015.

new blinds in the kitchen and family room. Grand kids are older now so maybe they will keep their dirty hands off.....and spaghetti sauce on the kitchen one.

Grand kid related for a new coffee table in the family room too. Too many hot wheels slamming and driving on it and now that stage is over.

I think that is it for now

We will be finished with our kitchen remodel once the wallpaper is put up and we get our new fridge. Our house is at an age where some regular maintenance needs to be done so we decided to start with the exterior work before the rainy season starts and it gets too hot. We made a list of the work we'd noticed and then asked our contractor to inspect the exterior of the house and make a list of what he noticed. He noticed quite a few things we hadn't found but once he showed them to me they were pretty obvious. For example, one of the windows has lost its seal and there's wood rot on the trim in a few places. He says that the window frame is still good so the window can just be repaired. He wants to take a closer look at the spot where there's wood rot before he replaces it so he can hopefully find out what caused it. Once we get a quote we'll decide what we will do now and what we'll wait to do. If there's money still left in the budget then we'll do the same thing inside the house. We've been very pleased with our contractor's honesty and attention to detail so far so we trust his opinion and advice.

We just did a kitchen Reno and are painting the kitchen/ family room.

Nothing. I'm happy with what I have now. Still have a few years, hopefully, before I need to start replacing some appliances. I've already completed all the structural things I wanted or needed to do. Pretty sure I'm good for a while unless something unexpected happens.

Foundation work and waterproofing the basement. We discovered a crack in the basement in the Fall and got an engineer’s report and all the walls have cracks. It’s major work., and money. Work will begin in mid May when the ground has thawed. Not happy about it, but we have no choice. Our house is 50 years old and we bought it new. Over the years we’ve done many renovations and upgrades. We did a complete kitchen reno in 2000, but have since replaced all the appliances in the last couple of years. We also did a main bathroom reno two years ago. We’ve put in hardwood flooring in most of the house, all new windows and doors, new roof, etc. DH is currently taking down all the panelling and insulation in the basement in preparation. It’s never ending.

Not much. Kitchen was gutted down to the subfloor due to a dishwasher flood and is totally new. Basement had just been redone and now a small part of ceiling has to be redone. We’ve had roof, AC, and plumbing piping all redone within the last few years. Flooring has all been redone except my bedroom. Dh can do pretty much anything himself. We’ve also had the water heater and washing machine replaced last year. Our house will finally be perfect when we’re ready to sell it.

After waiting 40+ years for any landscaping at all and about 6 years for the front porch to be finished my husband promises that he is going to get it done this year. I’m not holding my breath.

Main house getting a new driveway. Vacation house getting new bathroom counters and some outside things, including a hot tub.

Well...we are redoing our basement. My husband torn out the old bathroom this evening, we will be redoing the whole thing. We have a old milk house we are renovating on our farm as well After that we are redoing our master bathroom...son getting married on our farm in July so some before, so after. I'm tired already thinking about it! But it will look nice when we are done. We've got some painting to do in the main part of the house as well.

Right now our tile walk in shower has been ripped out and we are having a new one installed
Later this year a new railing for stairs, new bay window and replace washer hookups

Our house is 5 years old this May

Continue to landscape

All my other money is going to the 70 Cuda renovation…$$$

Continue to landscape

landscaping tip-

if you want ground cover plant strawberries. birds eat strawberries and will um, er:o....naturally plant strawberry seeds in other areas of your yard to create more ground cover.

Painting the inside, but that was also the plans for 2022, 2021, and 2020. So will probably still be the plan for 2024.
