What are your plans for this Labor Day weekend?

My hubby is TDY in Texas so it is just me and the kids. We live near Va beach so hoping Earl dosen't hot to hard and misses us. Kids have football game on sunday. last week end of the pool so I hope to take them there.

CAMPING! I am so excited!!! It's going to be so relaxing!

We were going to go to Chicago, had reservations and all, but changed our minds.

No set plans for us -- we were supposed to be camping/rafting this weekend, but decided a few weeks ago, we'd much rather have a lazy extended weekend instead.

I have, however, promised DD that we could still put up the tent in the backyard to camp at home. DH also told her we'd have a fire for s'mores and eat dinner outside. I'm looking for a few ghost stories and camp games too.

I'm just glad that the weather is supposed to be beautiful! Lows in the upper-50s so we shouldn't be sleeping in pools of our own sweat

I am going to Disney! Shhh...super secret surpise "girls only" trip for me and my DD8. I just booked a couple of weeks ago and she has no idea. DH and I are not telling her until we get to the airport Friday night.

We usually go to my aunt's house but we lost her last month. This will be the first holiday I will sorely miss her!

My uncle and son are coming with me to a road trip to Chattanooga to see my oldest sister and her family. They're having the annual "cookout" this year.

I'm still gonna miss my aunt's bbq. She was the best cook ever!

I'm envious of everyone getting to do something fun! Growing up on the east coast, Labor Day weekend was always the last hurrah of the summer before school started and we always did something fun like go to the shore.

School starts for my kids earlier now and we have sports events and need to keep kids somewhat on a regualr schedule, so we don't do anything other than BBQ. It will be nice to have Monday off though~

One week. This is our family vacation this year. Myself, DH and DD8. I've never seen someone with the exact same ticker as me before. How cool!

flying out of San Francisco to Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday and then taking the Amtrak to Kissimmee on Sunday and then taxi ride to THE POLY!!!!

We were planning on staying in town and relaxing, etc... but now we're driving down to WDW Friday afternoon and spending Friday and Saturday in Epcot and the MK before driving back Saturday night (2.5 hour trip) for church on Sunday. Spur of the moment, just happened over lunch today. No planning or anything. We're crazy people, crazy!

Then relaxing. Playing golf Friday morning and hopefully Monday as well, watching some college football on the DVR Sunday (since we'll be in WDW on Saturday). Happy birthday to me.

8 days at WDW and Universal Studios!

I am working both of my jobs (retail) Labor Day weekend. So please be nice to those people who have to work this weekend. We would rather be with our families and not working and are very jealous that we aren't

Between my place and my DD's travel trailer down on my extra lot, we'll have at least 30 people up here.. Some arrive tomorrow - some Friday - some Saturday - and some for just the day and late night on Sunday..

Sunday is the all day picnic.. Sunday night is all of the huge bon fires on everyones beach down at the lake.. Unfortunately, Earl could cause major problems - but we're still keeping our fingers crossed..

Monday - Labor Day - most of the seasonal folks will pull their boats and jet skis out of the lake; pack up all their belongings; winterize and close up their places; and not come back till next year..

My crew will still be coming up on weekends until Columbus Day.. After that, I'm on my own until I head back to their place for the winter in late November - or if I'm really lucky, the 1st of December..

Can't believe the time for the seasonal folks to leave is here already.. Seems like the season went by in the blink of an eye..

I'm looking forward to being alone - just me, my books, my other projects, and the wildlife.. It's been great here this year..
