Hey guys,

Other then Disney, where else do you vacation. I am not going to Disney this year, because after two years in a row we decided we should take a year off. Also, we did a lot of work on the house and are saving a lot of money on a less extravagant vacation.

Thanks to a very nice person on this board whose name escapes me I am trying a nice resort in Lancaster Pa this year. I used to go to Lancaster years ago and we went a lot when I was a kid and I have many memorable memories there.

So I would say Disney and Lancaster are my two favorate vacation destinations. Disney of course is the ultimate and Lancaster is nice because it is close and a lot less expensive.

What places to you and your families go to other then Disney.

I also like Rehoboth Beach Delaware and the Jersey Shore.

Dh and I really love Myrtle Beach, but we usually spend our vacations at Disney. This year, however, we decided to switch it up a bit and go on a cruise. While I'm very excited about it, I really am sad we're going to miss Disney. So we're going to try to get there next spring.

I love the Maine coast and Cape Cod. They are two of my favorite places. Unfortunately, my DH is more of an amusement park kind of guy. I keep offering him a "guys weekend" so I can take my DD up there. He won't go. :confused3 He wants to be together with his family - and piss and moan the whole time! :lmao:

San Francisco, New York and Las Vegas.

Vegas, baby! I love NYC too. But that's more of a shopping pilgrimage than anything  .

San Diego, Banff and northern Minnesota.

Lancasterg, Pa. and Williamsburg, Va.

Hawaii, Niagara Falls, Virginia Beach. Those are some of my favorite places.
We're going to Gettysburg PA with the kiddos this year.

One year, we did Williamsburg VA and Busch Gardens for a week. I'd love to do it again! I think for a week, we spent less than $1,000, but we did stay in a cheap motel.

We also love going to the Lake Erie Islands, especially Put-in-Bay. It's a bit pricey, though.

MidCoast Maine (going this year further south...I'll report back!)

Cape May, NJ

Riveria Maya, Mexico - 1 hr south of Cancun.

Headed there for the 4th time next Sunday.

We go to an all-inclusive - one price for flight, room, food, drinks, activities on the resort - so relaxing - I like to call it a "non-thinking, non-planning vacation". Although we have learned to go to Disney and relax.

Myrtle Beach, SC!!

Our family loves going there. In fact, my 7 year old prefers Myrtle Beach over Disney World (blasphemy!).

Since 1999, we have been to either Disney or Myrtle Beach.

We have plans for Hawaii in the next few years.

DW and I have been on a couple of cruises, but we haven't gone with kids yet. We enjoyed the cruises greatly!

My very favorite vacation spot is Vallarta Shores suites on Los Muertos Beach in Puerto Vallarta. Check it out: http://www.vallartashores.com/suites.php
There is nothing better than coming home at the end of a hard day of relaxing on the beach and having your own private chef/houseboy start blending your margaritas the minute you walk in the door. oooohhh, I miss Antonio....
